    Carmageddon Reincarnation

Oh yes, this one is getting backed.
$15 for a copy. Thank you very much.

I adored Carmageddon, it's one of my all time favourite games. I'll never forget the day I figured out how to get it to run in HI-RES! Oh my!

They seem to hold something against Tim Schaefer

The original Carmageddon was one of my favorite games back in the day. Playing it on LAN was amazing.

Did you watch the Kickstarter video?

Apparently, Grim Fandango outsold Carmageddon 2 and held the number one spot by some insignificant number.

I saw it, I didn't want to give it away! Did they say 40 copies?

no, that would imply guns mounted on roofs and the like, Carmageddon is like destruction derby in a GTA world packed with zombies/humans depending on how you modded it, and if you really wanted to you could race for first... but i know no-one that did that.

They've updated their kickstarter, they haven't reached the $400k yet, but they say if they reach $600k they can afford a Mac and Linux Version

                  What do you know ay?

First 2 were amazing, if all went to pot when other companies tried making it, especially on ps1/n64

I'm hoping they don't go down the duke nukem route and forget to bring it into the modern world in the correct way

Whenever I see the name Carmageddon I get nostalgic memories of seeing a magazine cover saying "ITS DOOM ON WHEELS" which made me pick the magazine up and play the demo.

I must've been about 13. It wasn't Doom on wheels.

Fond memories of the PC games. And running the games in Glide made them look awesome. Unfortunately, a lot of people will only remember the abysmal console ports. It was significantly more fun than Twisted Metal, which was just boring for the most part.

Saying that, I have my doubts that the formula could work today. I think we were all happy wth shallower experiences back then, but the industry has moved on. We'll see.

Apologies for the double post, but it looks like the Max Pack (the original game + the Splat Pack) is coming DRM-free to GoG.

Stainless Games today announced that the original classic "points for pedestrians" driving game Carmageddon will launch in the summer of 2012 on iOS and Android. Gamers around the world will soon have Carmageddon in the palm of their hands!

And as a way of saying a massive Thank You to their Backers on Kickstarter.com for funding their forthcoming brand new PC title Carmageddon: Reincarnation through a successful campaign on the crowd-sourced funding site, Stainless Games will be launching the iOS version of the game FREE on the iTunes Store for the first 24 hours after launch – so that Backers and Fans can enjoy the mobile touch-screen Carmageddon experience at NO COST!
