Since all movie tie-ins are pants, I was trying to think of a simple but decent idea for a game, so I thought it would come from a simple film. Any ideas for decent games from films?

Anyone seen a movie called the Cube? Bunch of people wake up in a cubic room and have to escape without dying? I reckon it could make an interesting video game. You have to solve the puzzle in each room or you die. Team member have different skills, so depending on which ones you kill off earliest determines how the rest of the game goes. Would be different each time you play as well (up to a point), due to the nature of the Cube. Any ideas to add?

I don't think it would make a good game tbh, but the idea of losing certain team members (and therefore affecting the outcome of the game) when you choose to is a great idea. I don't think it'll ever happen though because there would be far too many different routes through the game. How could you design something like that?

hehe, maybe one puzzle would be that you're stuck in one of those glass cubes from the GC ads, and you ahve to get out before the lack of oxygen kills you, oh and there's a monkey in there with you, so the oxygen gets used up faster

Well a simplified version of skills would be to merely assign each member an attribute he is good at. Such as speed, accuracy, strength. If you kill one dude, then you wouldn't want to go down certain routes (such as speed based levels) etc. as you simply don't want to lose more people.

You could try it and if you were good enough you could succeed, but it would be hard and risky.
