EA have officially lost the plot:
I mean seriously ... WTH are they thinking? Its stuff like this that makes me want to give up on gaming. ?40 is too much for this, I would gladly accept a bunch of maps over time for ?20 but ?40, but wait .. it will give you 'priority' access to servers!
Did the board at EA get taken over by Activision or something??

At $79.95au this is actually 95c more than I paid for the game at launch, and that included the Back to Karkand map pack.
I am astonished that they think that is a suitable price point for DLC and frivilous extras especially when they've taken a good 9 months to deliver any more DLC besides that first pack (which was planned way before launch anyway). I really, really like BF3 but honestly I am sickened by this.

Whilst I understand that these DLC aren't just maps - they are actually modifications to the game - it's perhaps the wrong way to go. All people want are new maps and bug/balance fixes, which would be much quicker and cheaper to develop. We should have seen more than 1 DLC already tbh. This is all too late and too expensive.Last edited by charlesr; 01-06-2012, 06:44.

For me its actually not that bad money wise ...
Its 4000 MS points which is roughly ?32, however I managed to get some cheap points from the Microsoft store about a month or so ago when they were on special offer. I got 4200 points for ?26, so this would only cost me ?24 which is a lot more reasonable than ?40, thats about ?6 an expansion. That's not unreasonable in my opinion.
Still not happy that EA / DICE have backtracked on this though, after saying they would never charge people for this.

It's well cheeky that they are including Back To Karkard in the "purchased individually" comparison on this.... Anyone intereted in buying all the DLC will have already bought Back to Karkard.
PC prices:
Back to Karkand $15
Close Quarters $15
Armored Kill $15
Aftermath $15
End Game $15
Total $75 / ?48
Premium: ?39.99 saving ?18.
Except anyone that has already paid for Back to Karkand is saving ?8. Whoopdedo.

I only paid ?22 for the LTD Edition, which included Karkand for free. It's 5000? for Premium for me, so I'm prolly gonna get it later today. It seems pointless if bought before after Close Quarters, as another 1500? "wasted". I'll get the DLC today too this way, where everyone else has to wait two weeks. ?65 all-in isn't so bad.
I took the ACR-W and the ACR-W Proficiency dog tag from a player around two weeks ago. When I searched him on Battlelog, apparently he doesn't exist. Odd.Kept you waiting, huh?

?48 separate - ?40 points = ?8 saving? where does the ?18 come in?

So erm I'll try again.
On PC Premium sets you back ?40. They are saying if you bought that list separately it would cost you ?48. So you are saving ?8.
Except that everyone will have bought Karkand already or got it for free, so the list actually costs ~?39 (take away the $15). So it's better to buy them separately??
