    Gaming franchise investments. (pic heavy)

We all have our favourite franchises and over the years have bought many games to support each particular one. While I was relaxing in the morning sunI thought about going through my own franchises just to see how much I had invested over the years.
I don't buy games blindly if they are part of a series I love but I am more likely to play a less than stellar game if it is part of a series I really like.

So here are a fair few of my main franchises, feel free to add yours!

    Ace Combat
A series I have enjoyed since day 1. Loved it on PS1 mainly due to the brilliant sound the first one had and the really exciting gameplay. They got even better on PS2 and peaked there I feel.

    Breath of Fire
A sweet and classic franchise with old school gameplay. I have yet to complete a single one though! Shocking!

    Castlevania
One of the greatest franchises around for me. I like every game pictured, even the much maligned PS2 versions.

    Final Fantasy
Needs no introduction really. Been a fan since the early 90's. Pretty much everything here was bought new also.

    Mana
Another series I have adored since 1993. It gets a lot of flak overall but I do enjoy games like Legend and Dawn very much.

    Mario
A few Mario games in my collection. While Kart and the Platformers are a seperate series, Mario is certainly a franchise all on his own. I don't think he is an exceptional character or anything, but the games are almost always fun.

    Metroid
First played Metroid on the GB and found it captivating. Since then I have grown to love the series. Prime is an outstanding example of 2d to 3d.

    Persona
Persona is superb. Still waiting to track a reasonable copy of P1. Love the modern style setting.

    Resident Evil
Another cracking franchise but it does have a few dodgy titles in it. I do really like Dead Aim though. The gamecube Resi 1 is outstanding to this day and Resi 4 an all time classic.

    Ridge Racer
While the series has become extremely stale, I still love the gameplay. Pity they don't make a new game and mix it up like they used to.

    Shutokou Battle
A franchise that gets lots of love from me. Completed every title there bar the new PS1 version I recently picked up. I don't think the games are brilliant, just extremely compelling and fun.

    Silent Hill
Love the series overall, despite it dropping off recently. Looking to import a PS2 Shattered Memories to complete them.

    Starfox
Another fun franchise that I love dearly. Masses of replay value in the original and 64. The other two here are very good fun too. Would love a new shooter.

    Suikoden
Top RPG action here. The first 2 are amazing, the third is brilliant too. Four is a tad dull but five is meant to be much better. Not had time to play it though!

    Wipeout
Ultra cool and ultra playable. Overall a fine franchise but I am not keen on the handling in the newer games.

    Xeno
Completed all of these and really enjoyed all. Saga may not be an official follow up but it does reference Gears.

    Zelda
Everyone knows I like Zelda! Not keen on WW though!

    Other
Just a few random others for fun.

So there are the core of my gaming franchises. There are more for sure but I haven't got all day!

Post some of your own! Pictures welcome!

Since I currently own so few video games I only have one picture I can contribute really, I hang onto these because they have great cover art, they're great games and they've maintained their value quite well. I imagine they all had quite low print runs. I've only got the 6 most recent versions, the first being beatmania IIDX 10 RED. The PS2 games start at 3 I believe (original and substream being arcade only) so I've got another 8 games to purchase I believe - luckily these are more inexpensive.

Got two boxed JP beatmania IIDX controllers too, as well as a few other bits. It's a series I have a lot of love for.

And nakamura, get on BoF already.

They are smart titles Speedy. I used to own the first Beatmania title on PS1 but I traded it on here a while back. Good game though.

IIDX stands for 2 Deluxe basically, it features 2 extra keys and various other modifications. The original bm is quite slow and dull to play for me now, but I too started with it.

Must be mental then as I was terrible at it. It was too fast!

This is probably the hardest song I can clear and I'm not very good. I've no idea how people can play 13* songs..

I love the DJ Troopers one! Looks like a scrolling shooter!

Half of them look like porn. And Beatmania could easily be the title of a porno.

Quality games there, Nakamura! I'm especially envious of all those Suikoden games, I only have parts 4 and 5...

Have loads i can do this with but these were the easiest 3 to put together that didn't involve turning my shelves upside down lol.

Cooking mama, i can't say what makes these games so compelling but i just love them. Kind of funny that one quirky ds game can spawn a whole franchise. Technically minna no conveni isn't a mama game but i think of it as a mama spinoff

Made in wario, another series that can make me laugh hard with the sheer weirdness of the microgames. Sadly not enough of these games get made, im hoping for at least a few more in the future. Polygon studio is there as thats actually the very first made in wario game before it ever came to gba, it existed in polygon studio as a minigame but the gba expanded it into so much more.

Taiko no tatsujin, another series i love but only got into it when namco jumped consoles & started making them for nintendo. Would love to get the older ones someday.

That Polygon Studio looks cool! Never seen a boxed 64DD game before. Never tried Cooking Mama but was tempted to have a look for my wife and Taiko looks nuts on you tube!

                          Great pics.

I really can't be arsed taking pics, but I have over 40 Street Fighter games (don't know how much exactly) if you count all the Vs stuff etc. I'd hate to think how much I've spent over the years.

As someone who doesn't keep any games for longer than I play them, these are like pictures of old friends. So many happy memories and shattered dreams. Nice one guys.
