Well, I found this embarrassing trailer for Sonic Adventure. Not only is it bad, but it also falsely implies you can play Sonic Adventure online, or in multiplayer at all.

Did the idiots they had for advertising in Europe even play the games?

The haircut one was bewildering. Did anyone get the Promo VHS tape with official Dreamcast magazine?

I ended up buying another two Dreamcast games the other night after viewing this.

That is an unusually camp voiceover for a gaming system. I think I remember this. Is the one that talks about the "60 megahertz mode?"... I don't want 60 mhz sent into my CRT TV thanks

So, I ended up taking both discs from the US copy of Skies Of Arcadia that I got given to be resurfaced, and... result! Now they work, and, 11 years on, I'm finally getting into the game.

Played some Ecco the Dolphin last night. Still a really lovely looking game (best visuals on the DC?) and I had a lot of fun just motoring about jumping out of the water - sod the missions. I was quite surprised the game had a plot. I'd always assumed you just went about righting the wrongs under water. The whole alien invasion thing is way out of place.

              Also, Toy Commander arrived today.

We'll see if this is as fun as I remember!

Toy Commander is a great game, wish I could get it over here. Ecco I have but have never actually played, will have to put some time into it once I have finished Segagaga.

You can get Toy Commander in Japan. It has a altered title though which I don't remember at the moment.

Checking the wiki Yakumo is right. It's called "Totsugeki! Teketeke!! Toy Ranger" in Japan.

Recommend giving Ecco ago. The missions and combat are a little weak but it's so much fun just swimming around exploring. Really pleased to hear Sega are considering making another - could you imagine how awesome a PS4 version of Ecco could look!

Also, keep the blog posts coming, Tokyochojin! really enjoyed reading them.

Popped Toy Commander in for a quick go the other night. Still a really nice looking game - I think the colourful art direction they went with has aged well. Currently making my way through the kitchen and generally getting to grips with the mechanics. Totally forgot you could drive up walls!

Had a play of Ecco too. Up to the mission where you've got to take out four sharks without taking much damage. It's not impossible but you can see the game is severely lacking a lock-on feature.

I could never get on with Toy Commander even though it was utterly charming and quite original. I was playing Ecco the other day and it still looks and plays fabulous.

Thanks, I will keep a look out for Toy Commander then. Really suprised to hear it got a release so that's great. Also, thanks for the comments about my blog, looking to do a SEAMAN diary in the next week or so with my daily experiences of the game so keep checking.

Toy Commander is rock solid. Its actually a really great game, and even more amazing being a launch game. They got the look nailed perfectly. Each area of a house seems absolutely huge, with no popup and its certainly one of the most impressive Dreamcast games visually because of it.

It really does make you feel like a kid again racing cars up walls and just messing about. The only thing that lets it down is how difficult it can be, even early on and its a shame there isn't more mess about puzzles like trying to fry and egg as most end up with you having to shoot things a lot.

You're right about the difficulty, Sack! Certainly gets challenging once you get the kitchen area out the way. I agree about the shooting too; it's not terrible but it would have been nice to have more missions like the boiling egg one.

                                Bump thread.

I know there's still snow outside but it's Summer again soon and I'd like to revive the thread for people who weren't involved last year (like me) or would like another play through (or play more games)

I'm thinking in the next 4 weeks or so I should be up and running.

I've just bought a new copy of MSR on eBay as I'd love to finish it this time and I've also bought Shenmue again from this very forum for another play through. Also I've picked up a VGA cable from www.consolegoods.co.uk - and now I just need a minty white Dreamcast

Here's what I'm looking to play again, a lot have been HD remade/ported but the Dreamcast originals still have reason to go back to:

                                MSR
                                Shenmue
Crazy Taxi - as the Xbox Live version has a lot missing, like original soundtrack, plus it doesn't even have KFC and Pizza Hut!
Sonic Adventure - the original has the proper textures
Sega Rally 2 - gonna try the 60FPS cheat
                                Sonic Shuffle

And games that I never had originally:

                                Power Stone 1 or 2
                                Crazy Taxi 2
                                Tony Hawk's 2
                                Hydro Thunder

Also some indy games if I can get them for a good price

I'll add more to the list later...
