Regarding project P-100. That platinum games guy drew some symbols on the touch screen and something, think it was a command, popped up on the TV screen. Looks interesting, but I doubt it will make it in time for launch. When that GT tv guy as Atsushi Inaba if it is a launch game, he said basically that they are not sure.

Obviously you can't truly judge those games based on a quick clip but as a presentation designed to get me excited about the Wii U it failed completely.
It really needed a Mario Galaxy, not another in the line of seemingly identikit New SMB. By all means give us another Pikimin but please appear to do something a little bit different with it. More minigames? Fine but not as your main big hitter.
All it needed was a Retro re-imagining of Star Fox, a Dragon's Dogma/Monster Hunter-esque Zelda or, heaven forbid, a real, important new character/IP/franchise that they had some faith in. Then the faithful would have gone away happy.
And 3rd party? Lego looked OK and the use of the tablet in Zombi U and Batsy was interesting but that's about it. It seems that the gamepad really will be used just for maps, scanners and inventories.
So, no excitement for Wii U from me. I'm sure there'll be something at some point that I'll get excited about but not at launch it seems.Last edited by Wil; 05-06-2012, 18:17.

This.
E3 has been a general fail this year, ports, sequels and meh. Beyond on PS3 was my highlight - but it's been measly pickings overall.

But again, we know very little of how it plays. From the short demo I've seen nothing to compare it to Pikmin. It seems like a fast-paced brawler with aerial combos and much variety.

ZombieU looks cool, Pikmin looks cool, NSMB and hopefully some same day new 3rd party releases I think thats pretty solid for launch to be honest... Sold if unspectacular I thought overall.
Course I wouldnt have minded seeing something like Starfox, Metroid or F-Zero - but maybe those franchises are dead to Nintendo....?

Even Pikmim used it for a map.
To make things even worse, the pad seems to be almost entirely optional for several games the showed.
As it turns out, NSMBU and Rayman both use the Pad for the exact sake gameplay mechanic, a rather boring support role.

Honestly I hope you're right, Nintendo have been neglecting Metroid for years now even teasing Metroid Dread inside of the Metroid Prime games, and for what? Nothing yet. Not even a mention for it's 25th like Mario and Zelda got. It's their black sheep, they don't care about it despite how much the fans love it
