For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

If we are to google every question we have, we might as well close down the forum. Not that your arrogant reply even answered his question.

      yesteryeargames:
I don't think so. Seen no mention of a stream on any pages I've been to, and it's very usual to have a developers roundtable behind closed doors. Hopefully the stuff won't be embargoed, and if so we will see videos from it later.

Also glad to see somebody make games that are more wondrous, imaginative and fantastical in their presentation. Nintendoland, P100 and Lego City all evoke a feeling of "fun" not present in most of todays popular games. If I want grey cover shooters I have enough to chose from, thank you Nintendo for giving me something else.
there is nothing and mean nothing in those three games you've mention that are wondrous, imaginative and fantastical, a minigame collection that just reaks of the crap sega came up with Planet Ring if you remember that, a Pikmin clone when they have the original on its way and lego batman/starwars+1, popular games are popular because they are fun, grey or not.

Firstly, Planet Ring was DA BOMB! Remember getting it with a copy of The Official DreamCast Magazine, and being ecstatic at how great it was to get a free game, especially a good one.

Secondly, I was talking about the visual style. And you can't argue that a game that tries its hardest to mirror reality in its presentation is wondrous in any way.

Thirdly, P100 plays NOTHING like Pikmin and Lego City Undercover plays NOTHING like previous Lego games. They just share some visual superficial similarities, which once again proves my point that too many judge these games based on looks alone, and dismissing them (or even claiming how they play) before even trying them.

Not that it would bother me but the main one is quite simple

            No Fifa announced. Yet.

Exactly what EA did to Sega when they were "evaluating" the DC. I just have a bad feeling the ports won't sell as expected (due to the pretty obvious fact being early adopters are more likely to be gamers that have already played games like Batman and Mass Effect 3) these sales will be seen as a lack of interest or incorrect demographic system and the snowball goes from there, I do hope that's not the case and it could just as easy be that they are not announced until tomorrow but EA only giving up one IP and Ubisoft being the largest contributor not mentioning it looks like Nintendo are having to publish games that would otherwise be 3rd party published such as Ninja Gaiden 3, Nintendo are publishing not Tecmo Koei question is why?

I don't think that will happen. EA dropped the Dreamcast completely, while EA has already announced support of the Wii U. And I expect most future (ones that have not already been in development for a while) - if not all - multiplatform games to come to Wii U. It runs all current engines with ease, and the SDK is said to be very versatile, so unless publishers say no to extra money, I can't see any reason not to release your game on the Wii U.

I hope you are right but come the release of the other 2 that very well may change depends how much more (if any) powerful the other two are and how well the wii u does with it's probable 12 month head start which is another reminder to me the whole Dreamcast thing, if they piss their 12 months up the wall or don't create some blockbuster family game like the original wii fit then it may well struggle

Yeah, the small gap between this and the next consoles could be problematic. Though rumours say that the next machines might not be here before 2014, and by that time the Wii U is sure to have a huge install base. It might sell through the roof in just it's first year too. If and when, the publishers can't ignore such a huge demographic, and will have to provide content for the Wii U. Who knows, maybe the Wii U will be the lead platform for most future titles, and PS4 and XBox 720 will get the ports. But I seriously believe that the graphical leap going next gen won't be as huge as it has been before. And I can see many developers making games that will run on both Wii U, and the next ones, where the PS4 and 720 games will be very similar only running on higher res with higher resolution textures. Most consumers would still be impressed by a game made for Wii U, running on PS4 or 720.

ALSO THIS: Wii Virtual Console content will be transferable to Wii U. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/201...games_to_wii_u
Cool, though I only have about five VC titles on my current machine, as I sold my white one to get a black one. Transferring from Wii to Wii is still impossible. :P

Yeah I kinda agree with that as long as it gets the install base, if it is comparable or a little more than a ps3/360 it's not like the 3rd party developers have not got 6-7 years of experience squeezing the best out of them so it shouldn't suffer until maybe mid-late next gen (when it will be Unreal 4, mega textures 2? Etc wtc) but it really depends on how many early adopters Nintendo can get to bite and it a hard sell with the economy the way it is and the promise of more power to the seasoned gamers not a massive distance down the road, it really is in a catch 22. It needs the games to sell the system but need the install base to tempt the developers to bother in the long term, hopefully they will get it right but if they don't it will be a train wreck

This is great, I just hope I can copy from my Wii which is loaded with CFW. If not, I'll just keep my Wii.

And by two competitors this time around no less. Did the Dreamcast lack EA/third party support at launch? I honestly don't recall.... I kept my money in my pocket to go towards getting a PS2 at launch instead. Got a DC eventually though!

Of course SEGA didn't have 95 million customers buy their previous console & a similar amount invest in their handheld - all so they could play games featuring the most enviable quality of IP. I think Nintendo will be just fine.

Plus there is the age old thing that Nintendo NEVER sell hardware at a loss.
Yep. Nintendo can probably afford two to three successive console flops. I don't think they are "teh d0med" quite yet.

Personally I found the conference to be a massive missed opportunity for Nintendo. Considering the trouble they had with the 3DS launch window it should be very clear to them that they need to show a strong rrp with strong titles at launch and considering how close release is they were too flakey on specifics and didn't have any games to hand that would really drive hardware sales. It was all a little to leant towards the casual market that had fuelled much of the Wii's success, the very audience that wouldn't be watching E3. My main disappointment, I'll just say it, was Pikmin 3. It doesn't look bad by any means but this is a game delayed over two generations of hardware and kept secret by Nintendo. I'd be curious to see what they'd been working on for it for ages and when it's finally revealed it gets little time by Nintendo and the brief bit we see looks like a Gamecube game. Skipping over the 3DS a lot too was silly. Kind of typical of Nintendo this year really, not bad... just disappointing.

This will be like a poor man's Dreamcast a 'stepping stone' until MS and SONY bring out their follow up consoles . Nintendo had over a year to blow our socks off and instead they come up with this poor showing for their next major console release.

Well I think they have lost their way. Although I have not seen the machine, one observation is they are showing THREE controllers for one machine!!

No doubt a two player game will cost you a fortune to buy the extra controllers.
