Was that prediction before or after Onlive said that's what they wanted to do or even had TVs with it in?

Using Smartglass and vita are replacement wii-u pads

Bad to possibly loose your exclusives before launch even

Having said now I think about it That controller really doesn't do anything that the old use a PSP as a controller didn't really
      Dual Analogs, Touchscreen?

Now you mention it, the Vita doesn't do anything a PSP does either....

I have to admit the primal interest for me is finally - FINALLY!!! - getting my hands on HD Nintendo games. It sounds really fanboyish, but hey ho. The thought of a HD Zelda or Mario Galaxy is all i ever wanted... Perfect gameplay with beautiful visuals.

        - Im not fussed at all about the pad.

That's why E3 was such a let down for me, personally. They seem to focus on porting the games i already own for 360 or PS3 - and not even offer interesting ways to use the game pad.

It was also worrying to see the mention of support. Im sure they have it, but why not mention it? Where were the big japanese devs that have been supporting nintendo so well recently? Why wasnt a new Final Fantasy hinted at, or a Monster Hunter, or something from capcom or whoever?! Now with TGS in mind, it kinda makes sense. I can imagine Nintendo thinking they purely wanted to please the Western crowd - and sadly their understanding of what to do to do that is so very vague. I can imagine a meeting like this:

...."So we have lots of amazing games in the works by japanese devs.... but the US don't get us"
...."I know!!! Lets SHOW THEM BATMAN!!"
        "BAM"

..... Seriously though TGS has me excited, here's hoping.

Did they say it before then? (Aug 2011) I didn't read anything about it. Honest.

I posted this in the wrong thread though. sorry.

I share your optimism. Surely Nintendo have held something special back for the big show on their home turf. Big titles like you mentioned above. They have to show Zelda or Mario at the next show......don't they!?

If they don't show at big Japanese 3rd party support and at least 1 killer app then to steal Nakamura's line, 'Wii U is the titanic and TSG is their Iceberg'.

              spamming this thread!

I just had a funny thought, Street Fighter wii U for the casuals. You have pictures of the special moves on your gamepad. Just press the icon and the special move will happen!

*sigh* It would be funnier if I could use photo shop

But then the big three this year seem to not want to show much at their conferences. They would much rather wait for TGS or their own show to give out more info. It's almost like they are sticking two fingers up to E3 on purpose, because it does not fit their needs anymore.

I dunno I am kinda hoping Ninty still has some stuff for launch they are not telling us, and that it was show its face at TGS. We will see, we all know that Ninty is still a Japanese Company at its heart so maybe they just don't see a US show as all that important. We don't even know what the release date / price is yet ... Even the final spec hasn't been fully nailed down .. crazy stuff.
I've got another, more likely possibility. MS and Sony didn't have much new to show off because all of their main studios are busy with development for their next gen machines and they don't want to announce anything too early so are waiting for next years E3 for their big reveals. Nintendo had two choices, announce everything they've got in development for the next year or so and have nothing much new to show next year other than the same games, or this year just concentrate on what they are going to release for the Wii U launch period and keep back their big guns for next year when theyll want to draw attention away from ms and sony. They went for the latter. We all know there's a HD zelda, mario, mario kart etc being made but obviously they are not ready to be released this year.

My biggest gripe is the lack of third party announcements, if there was confirmation that the big third party games for the end of the year like most wanted, metal gear rising, FIFA, black ops 2, dead space 3, castlevania etc were also coming to Wii U then I think there would be no backlash. Instead all Nintendo have shown is assassins creed 3 and a bunch of ports of games that were released last year

Oh Boris we all know if it had a Microsoft label on it it would be the best thing ever to have been made, not sure how they would get kinect and all the Yankee sports to work on it mind

In all seriousness it's a fair bit better and I'm pretty sure you know it well apart from if you want to play a ps1 game anyways

Kind of surprised that their E3 page has a lot more stuff that what they have showed during the conference.
They even have the Game & Wario title playable on the show floor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6_5LZiSNIA, and tank! tank! tank! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgCpaqQ_Dvc.
Considering the material the had brought to E3 and what they have shown during the press conferences, I would question the person who put the show together, it could have been so much better.

I too thought Nintendo's E3 was a bit grim but there's no point being disappointed. We all know eventually we're gonna see a Zelda game, Mario Kart, proper 3D Mario game and some other classic Nintendo franchises returning on the Wii U which was always gonna have similar graphics as the Xbox 360/PS3. Just look how good Super Mario Galaxy looks. One of the best looking games of this generation and that was on the Wii. Imagine that in HD.

Wii U will come good in time, it just needs better 3rd party support.

What ones? You mean Sony and MicroSoft? They were as bad as the Nintendo ones apparently.

I think he meant the other two Nintendo conferences. I believe the 3DS one is here:
