    Doom 3: BFG Edition

On October 19th Bethesda will be releasing this new version of Doom 3 on PC (?19.99), Xbox 360 and PS3 (?29.99). The game includes:

    -Doom
    -Doom II
    -Doom III
    -Doom III: Resurrection of Evil
    -Doom III: The Lost Mission

The Lost Mission is a brand new single player story with seven levels. Doom 3 has had the usual HD visual upgrade, 3D support, 5.1 surround sound and Achievements/Trophies. They've also added new checkpoints and an armour mounted torch so players can see easier.

Amazon has the console versions up for pre-order at ?22.99

I'm guessing they'll keep it the same as it was like the various HD Collections

Man, hope they make Doom 1 and 2 so you can look up/down as well as the OpenGL graphics overhaul like DoomLegacy.

They have fixed the torch and it is now mounted on your armour.

Playstation Blog: How do you think all three games stand up today on PS3?

Eric Webb (from id): I think they all stand up really well. One of the first things we did when we first started work on it was pay attention to how the controls feel. There’s something about the DUALSHOCK 3 controller and its dual analog sticks that feels really good when you’re holding it in a game like this. It gives it a different life and almost makes it an entirely new experience. So I think it’s really cool on PS3.

Really? An entirely new experience? I'm sold! haha!

Cool collection. I would love it if Doom 1-2 had the PS1 soundtrack as it was far better but I bet it will be the PC version. Pity as even though it was original it wasn't better.

The omission of Final Doom is a bit strange, I rather liked that.

Taking in account that Doom on XBLA is Ultimate Doom in fact.
Does that mean, it will be Ultimate Doom in this collection also? (= Doom with an extra episode)

I thought the look-lock was part of the charm. Otherwise you might as well just play any other FPS.

I'm actually really looking forward to this, only played through the main doom 3 campaign way back in 2005, and none of the extras that were released.

The Lost Missions has me interested, but I already own Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil. Will have to wait to see how much they've changed to justify picking this up. Hopefully it's a fair bit - the weapon feedback in 3 was pretty poor so I hope they've tweaked that.

Hope it's the PC campaign as I only had the chance to play the Xbox one originally, this will definitely be an instant buy for me regardless though. One of my favourite games on the Xbox and gives a nice excuse to play through it again.
