I had heard this was the 10th studio Activision have closed this generation, TENTH!
Really enjoyed Hulk and Prototype series, hope the talented people involved get new jobs never nice hearing about job loss of any kind, especially when its an industry I enjoy and it looks like its crumbling around us.

Shame. The only game I recall playing by them was NHL Powerplay on the Saturn back in the day, but it was fab (even as someone with no interest in ice hockey).

Though low key, they seemed like one of Activisions steadier studios. Prototype 2 wasn't that good in the end though.

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

Activision has updated to say that Radical will be staying open however they've shed a lot of staff and the studio will be a support studio ala Beachhead, thereby no longer making its own games.

Its sad but yeah, Prototype 2 I would not have signed it. I guess it was better to sign it that to shed all their staff after the first game but...

Prototype 2 didn't need 3 years of development. It was a marginal set of Changes of the original.
Crackdown 2 was made in 8 months and that was about as much of a substantial change.

Apparently they did have 3 other games canned during the last few years, so perhaps Prototype 2 was knocked out for cheaps.

I was just reading what someone posted on another thread, probably just the guessing. You are right though I cannot imagine it would take that long if they reused a bunch of assets. Still a lot of work though I can see why they had so many staffers on it.
