Codemasters is toeing the fine line between simulation and arcade racing and taking a couple of interesting risks with its tarmac racing sequel.
EG previews Grid 2. Despite the late arrival (game due Summer 2013), it's said to be very similar to the first game. In-Car view has been removed from the game due to a lack of players who use it.
A trailer and a series of screens have also been revealed.

Codemasters release some of the worst trailers and bull(screen)shots in the business.
Unless they (a) fix that ridiculous "monkey-arms lenght" cockpit view and (b) stop making these with an American focus, I'm out.
Judging by those bullshots though, looks like, yep, we are racing in the ****ing US of A again!Yawn. Look at that 2nd shot, how many times have you raced in that environemnt this generation?

OK, so it looks like I didn't need to worry about Codemasters trademark **** in-car view, because according to their own "research" 95% of players don't use it anyway, so they have chosen not to include one this time around.
Pretty shocking stuff from the recently re-badged "racing only" studio.
So, in summary, this is going to be bloody rubbish!
