I kinda meant $1.4 million just to remove the advertising is taking the piss is it not. I bet Charles wishes he got a hundredth of that for advertising on here (instead of the bag of chocolate buttons and couple of bags of monster munch we probably get )

LOL yeah, with you on that one. I was thinking of introducing ads for guests (logged in users will not see them). But if everyone that visits is like me, no one will ever click on them. I don't even see most ads - my brain has adblockplus built in.

As for this, seems a very "short term thinking" idea. Once the money runs out, then what? Another kickstarter? Diminishing returns. I bet most of their visitors didn't care about the ads, but now it has changed the profile of the ads massively to being "a nuisance" feature, instead of just a feature

I'm kind of sick of hearing about kickstarters, seems like it's the easy way now just beg for donations up front. Far too many popping up & i have yet to see a single one i give a toss about.
