    Name: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Reason for neglect: Two trophies away from Platinum-ing this. Was new to the world of Nathan Drake when I first got this last year or so, and I made the n00b mistake of playing the game right through three times (Easy & Hard, currently playing on Crushing) when I should've just played Medium then Crushing. Crushing is an arse-kicker. Haven't returned to it in quite a while.
    Level of regret: 6
Chance of atonement: Only if I resume playing (think I'm a third of the way through it) again and complete it on Crushing. I'm probably one of the few who don't think it's as average as people make it out to be, although the sequels are clearly better.

      Real one:
      Name: Metroid Prime Corruption
Reason for neglect: Dared to not play it every waking moment so after 72 hours away I came back and had no idea what to do
      Level of regret: 9
Chance of atonement: Very likely I'll put aside an entire week and just do it

      Rant:
      Name: Final Fantasy XIII
Reason for neglect: Reached a point where none of my super advanced tactics worked and the game just wanted me to spam ravage with every single character as fast as possible but didn't tell me. Then looked at my 40+ hours gametime and asked myself why I'd wasted so much time on this steaming turd of a game.
      Level of regret: 0
      Chance of atonement: None.

Chance of atonement: I will never play it again.
It's impossible to only hold right and win. If it was an attempt at humour then i will do one better:

        Name: VIDEOGAMES
Reason For Neglect: You just complete them and you win.
        Level Of Regret: -5/10
Chance Of Atonement: I will no longer play them again.

The minus 5 signifies my desire to actually stop the worlds population from playing them.

Ok now for one more serious:

        Name: Final Fantasy XIII
Reason For Neglect: boredom & disappointment
        Level of Regret: 1/10
Chance Of Atonement: If i had finished it then i would have completed every FF game i bought but due to it's crapness not only will i never return to it but it has turned me off the Franchise itself.

I'd like to know why all these people bought FFXIII in the first place. Could you not tell it was going to be a horrendous pile of crap from the demo/trailers/reviews?

I did but my emotional attachment to the FF games of the past clouded my judgement and i wanted to believe that it was going to be good.

FFXIII was the biggest carrot dangling game ever besides Diablo 3... You keep trawling through the ****e waiting for it to get good/better... then you finally get your hands on the carrot and it turns out to be a huge logger. I hope they learn from this crap. Crisis Core was a much better FF game, even though it's action based and a spin-off.

              Name: Diablo 3
Reason For Neglect: Huge anti-climax at endgame (what endgame?) and being forced into purchasing gear for real money if I want upgrades, and being forced into using one particular face-roll skills spec for any chance of survival. Even just naturally having better gear wouldn't fix much - there's just so much wrong here.
Level of Regret: 5/10, more huge disappointment than regret. I was expecting a PSO/U Blizzard style collectathon with challenge and PvP.
Chance Of Atonement: The whole success of Diablo II revolved around ladder resets. No way can the incorporate this (the first step towards truly fixing the game) whilst maintaining their real money auction house. It's a dead duck, or more like a festering dead cockroach. The PvP will be crap as well. What a load of cock.

This made me laugh out loud!!I'd echo the comments about how horrific FF13 was, but others have already said it more eloquently. That game really was terrible...

Wasn't the point of this thread to name games you regret leaving unfinished, not complaining about games that you didn't finish because you thought they were bad?

I'm not convinced that was better than mine. You may as well have just said "feed the cat, not the troll" considering how it went way, way over your head.
                    Kept you waiting, huh?

                        Name: Jet Force Gemini
Reason For Neglect: Couldn't kill the final boss (Minar?)
Level Of Regret: 9/10 I loved that game
Chance Of Atonement: 3/10 I want to finish it, but will probably just wait for my son to play through and watch his superior skills.

My favourite post in this thread. We should be friends, Joe.

(full disclosure: apart from the OP and this one, I didn't actually read any other posts, but I feel my judgement is sound)

Oh, I better make a serious post too...

                              Name: Folklore (PS3)
Reason for neglect: The final level can only be accessed by getting that far with both characters, and I had been exclusively using Keats instead of Elena. Didn't feel like replaying all again just for the endgame.
                              Level of regret: 9/10
Chance of atonement: This one bugs me. It's a beautiful game with an amazing style. Some day I will return, just not sure when. I should probably promise myself that I'll write an article on it. That might motivate me.

Just don't squeeze his arse in front of his boss. That's really unprofessional.

                                Nice thread topic, Alex WS.
I don't really have anything specific, but there's a few games I wish I'd played on the previous two generations that I never got around to.

It's odd, because I can happily play MAME, SNES, MD or Neo-Geo, but as soon as games went 3D, I feel they aged really fast.
There are a few games on the PS1 and PS2 that are classics, but they dated graphics and gameplay put me off.

I'm still going to get Seek & Destroy on PS2 though, thanks to the budget thread!
