At the end of act 2 and I have to say I'm really enjoying it! I was super hyped for the game so was buying it regardless but reading all the negativity I dropped my expectations quite a bit, but so far I think it's great. I think it has a nice mix of platforming, puzzles and survival horror.

The trail and error doesn't bother me as it starts you pretty much were you die and I find it quite satisfying completing sections like this after I've figured a few things out.

Will be interested to see how chapter 3 fairs as this is where people say it goes down hill but so far I think it has been very enjoyable and Im really glad I didn't let the negative comments put me off!

Just finished this...5 collectables/2 cheevs short of the 100%...I quite enjoyed it. The slower paced 90%, where you can think and explore are excellent but the parts where you need to do several things fast/under fire really do get annoying!

The controls just are not up to fast action...and the voice acting gets to a whole new level of ****e near the end!
All in all it gets 3.5/5 from me. When I get the 400 point rebate for buying 3 (Dust and Tony Hawk) the 800 points it will of cost were well spent!

        Thread revival.........

I played the demo of this last night and loved it. Thought when I looked this up here it would be getting glowing reviews! Is the demo not indicative of the full game?

I just ignored the reviews and people, when I played the demo I liked what I played and bought it.
That continued throughout the game for me, story wasn't great mind but the gameplay reminded me of ye olde PoP/ Flashback/Another World and that was enough for me.
People that hated deadlight need to try War of the Worlds, that will show you how bad it can get.

I thought the demo was very much like the rest of the game, I suspect people just had their hopes too high and were expecting another Shadow Complex.

Can't believe to this day that Shadow Complex 2 didn't happen.

I bought this in the recent sale, and it's OK, it's like a 6.5/7 for me. There are small errors here and there (typos!) but some of the backgrounds in this game are the most atmospheric I've ever seen, channeling a vibe akin to Limbo and Alan Wake at points, there are some beautiful vistas that are really visually arresting. Downsides is that it's REALLY short, about 6-7 hours playing cautiously, and it's a linear, repetitious action-puzzle game, more like Another World than Shadow Complex, there's no Metroidvania about this at all.

Not worth 1200pts but 600 is perhaps reasonable, it's an enjoyable ride while it lasts, it just doesn't have the substance needed to make it AAA.

Well I did pick this up after completing shadow complex, despite some negativity towards it. Bought yesterday as something to play while hungover that would be fairly relaxing to play, which it was in the most part. Couple of majorly frustrating sections due to the previously mentioned controls at times though which had me nearly twist the pad in half with frustration. All in all I enjoyed it though, a days entertainment for the money isn't great, but it was fun while it lasted. At times it was genuinely fantastic to look at as well. I'm very impressed with these current gen 2D games.

It could of been great but it isn't there are some really strange broken bits to this game and some hilariously bad bits of voice work "come out your just making it worse for yourself" says the guy trying to kill me with a helicopter lol.

                      What's up with the rat

he takes my stuff then sends me through some crazy traps which seem tacked on as a way to put traps in the game, I then have to go rescue his son armed only with a slingshot? Where's my axe and gun you crazy idiot? surely this isn't anything to do with the fact that having weapons breaks the puzzles in the next section? hmm is it

it could of been great it has the makings of a great puzzle platformer and I think the fast sections wouldn't of been bad if the game had tighter controls, there's nothing worse than having your guy jump the wrong way off a fence into a stream of very slowly pre designated approaching bullets and having to hit restart for the 10th time.
