PC Engine CD must haves

Righty ho,

One of my mates recently went to Japan and was kind enough to bring me back a PC Engine CDROM2 system (amongst other things).

It looks sweetah married up to my white PCE. Now all I need are some games to play on it. The only thing I have is Cyber City EODO 808, which I purchased a while back because I'm a fan of the anime. The game is probably crap though.

What I need from you knowledgable peeps is a list of must have CDROM2 games, my Japanese is non existant, so I suspect that any adventure games are off limits....

Super Raiden!!! Can't recommend this one enough.

Daisenpu Custom (normal CD) sounds like a good one (made by Toaplan! Haven't tried it myself though, as it's on the way from Japan...)

Psychic Storm should also be one of the better shooters out there.

I'd recommend the Wonder Boy games:

Wondey Boy III
Adventure Island (HuCard, but uses game save space)
Dynastic Hero

Populous - The Promised Lands is quite good (Commodore and Atari flags, with buildings made out of different pc engine setups).

Pomping World is good, but a little easy.

Prince of Persia is good, music especially.

JPN games?
dragon ball z
is quite a good beat em up, unique control system.

if you are also gonna try USA games, then try "it came from the dessert" a good cheesey FMV game, then again i love fmv games.

but stay away from sapphire
at near ?400 it is seriously disapointing, got it, and for that price hated it. ok, so the graphics are lush, but any shooter veteran can complete it within a few hours. and there doesnt even appear to be a save option for high scores.

too short, bland, and just not enough. steep price too.

only for those hardcore turbo collectors who must have EVERY cd
then again, buy it, copy it, and then sell the original.
