As I've never played these before what would be a good game in the series to pick up cheap and get a feel for it?

I like the sound of this and I love teamwork games that are fun.
I'm ready to commit to the fight, just don't wanna let my fellow recruits down.

Well, Insect Armageddon is online, but EDF 2017 isn't.

By the footage I've seen so far, 2025 looks like 2017 but with a few tweaks and online co-op, so the best preparation for the new game will be 2017.

It's got split-screen co-op though, so I should have you visit to help me with the last few levels on Inferno difficulty!

CEX have some copies for ?8.

EDF2017 is very samey though - in level setting and enemy type - especially in single player, which is a grind. EDF2 on the ps2 is the best game of the series for jaw dropping moments (ask nakamura).

Either way, the series is a bit joyless in single player, compared to co-op.

It’s been ages since I went bug stomping in EDF, I’m sure some of you remember my brief appearances as GILGAM35H back on the 360. Sadly if I manage to pick up this copy it will be on a PS3 (post burglary) so it will be goodbye XBOX squad and hello PS3 team!

The PS3 team will be leading the charge and taking the fight to the ravager scum, while the 360 team brings up the rear, i heard they like it from behind. Maybe we'll leave them some stragglers to skank when their a$$es get here in december

Looks like I'll be picking up the Jap PS3 version from PlayAsia for the 4th July release. Apologies if this has been posted before but I was rooting around on the D3 youtube channel and found this vid they have put up, it has some nice bike action at 0:35 seconds in.

Anybody already picked what class will be their main character? I was thinking about the support character but while useful in multi I doubt how easy it will be to advance the class in single player! I'd be interested to see how the character levelling works, I assume it's 2017 style with armour pickups and weapon drops that make you better. Ideally if you have a mate over couch co-op will mean he is levelling something for your game rather than something for his own user...

It's going to be interesting to see how players interact. I too was thinking of the support character, popping a target onto a Hector for everyone else's missiles to lock on to.

Whereas you were limited to two weapons in 2017 (four in split-screen), I can't wait to see how up to eight different weapons will affect our strategies.
