This is true. However it's a good job I had, otherwise we'd all be doomed Friday! I have been in contact with XSEED, and they are looking into the issue.

I'll see if it is any better tonight... But as is, you can't even play for a few mins without being booted back to the lobby

I think you have to get it from the US store though, having just tried it on the UK one and failed.

There's loads of content in EDF, but I'm a little disappointed that there's so much DLC.
There's all sorts of tanks and liveries to buy.

QC, you know that PQube are the publisher in the EU? That's why you aren't seeing any promo from XSeed!
Oh and for the record, the US DLC does not compute with the EU version (using EU PSN). STAND DOWN SOLDIERS. STAND DOWN!

I have it? VERY PlayStation 2, not that this is a bad thing! Only played the 1st Mission, has proper London voice overs (Playing on PS-TV fyi). What do you want to know

There's no such thing as a bad EDF game! Actually, scratch that: TACTICS..

I'd place it behind EDF 2017 currently, based on playing one level. Which makes sense as it is a reworking of the PS2 game.

I quite like the new style menu system, but I don't understand why it has changed? That said I haven't played the handheld versions before, this could be standard.

I will have a session at the weekend and get back to you on the rest.



However I can easily clarify for you now; You won't better EDF 4.1 for an overall Earth Defense Force experience. Especially with regards to multi-player!

Had some hours on this one over the weekend; including some games with MrBubbles from here. There is something quite fantastic with blasting bugs and robots and UFO's out of the sky! On the face of it, it shouldn't be much cop. Dodgy graphics and frame rate issues, but in coop with people shouting EDF EDF! it's an orgy of retro shooting action. I tried this on 360, but felt it would be better suited to coop play (had no one to play local split screen with) and now I realise why the game clicks for some of peeps on here. Short and sweet diversions into mayhem. Just what I needed.

I got both, the second one is a vast improvement over the first one, you can reload your weapon at will and all characters are unlocked at the start.
