The game is not even nearly done though. At least they actually finish CoD and FIFA (bugs notwithstanding).

Star Citizen still provides a fraction of what was promised ten years ago.

At the rate they are going they'll have raised a billion dollars before long, without delivering a finished game.

They've been on "the cusp" of releasing a game for the last decade. The only people that actually believe this is the cult of Roberts. And they've already bought the "game".

At this point, is there a market for this release that hasn't already bought into it? Space sims are a niche, it isn't Roblox.

Considering the amount of money people give them every time they announce a new ship, paint scheme, ponzi scheme for virtual land plots, or expansion, I would say the market is there, only it's just a bunch of whales willing to be sucked dry.
