Where the Hell is Power Stone???

Dont you guys think they should release these two awesome games (1&2) on PSN and XBLA?

They looked great via VGA on DC (still do) and I can't see it taking too much work to redo the UI in HD.

    Wishful thinking?

I've been waiting for these for a very long time, and I'll go on about it at every given opportunity.

I really can't understand why Capcom haven't released them on PSN/XBL, seems like a no-brainer to me. Along with the Capcom vs SNK series, they're the only real reason I still have a Dreamcast.

Only for PSP according to the EU PSN.

Yep, glad to see there is still some love for these lost classics!! No brainer is right! Apart from the obvious perks (online play, upscaled HD) I can easily see me bringing over 3 of my retro mates with their pads for some Power Stone weekend madness!!

Yeah it's available on US PSN Vita store indeed for 10$.

kyo_244: Can't you just plug a Dreamcast and 4 controllers? + Vga Box to display it on a monitor or TV ?

I had this discussion with a few of the guys from Capcom's translation team just before TGS and they were all saying the same thing. Just bizzare.

I might just do that But id still pay for an HD version with trophies and such.. would love if they gave it a full box release with collectors edition figures and other such goodies rather than just a digital re-release

Back when this generation's machines were first announced, I envisioned Power Stone 3 featuring epic sprawling online 8-player battles across roof tops and through multi-storey car parks..... lobbing cars and clouting each other with lamp posts and satellite dishes.

Shame we don't always get what we want.

Seriously though, the original must have sold well enough for the sequel to be produced? I can't see the PSP Collection having the greatest sales figures, but still.... I feel Capcom created something special with this series, and it's such a shame to see it apparently ignored.

But since the recent Darkstalkers announcement, surely Power Stone is about the only series left to update, other than the Capcom vs SNK games, and that apparently isn't happening.

Power Stone 2 would be perfect on XBLA or PSN as the 4 player matches are amazingly good. The first game has brilliant presentation but it's nowhere near as fun imo.

I think that the 2D fighters are now old enough to benefit from a nostalgia factor which makes them a bit more viable commercially, whereas Power Stone is still viewed as being a bit experimental and avant garde. A shame, as the sequel is easily the best multi-player game I've played.

Well Power Stone 2 needs more stages. It gets boring for my friends and me fast nowadays. We know it by heart.
I love the London Stage of Power Stone 1. I always remember this one first when I think of the game.
The elevator stage of Power Stone 2 is also very good.

I'm sure it will get revived somehow someday. Hell, we got Broken Sword, Monkey Island and Street Fighter news these last years whereas they stopped for 10 years before.

Power Stone II is vastly overrated for me;Kung Fu Chaos is such a better game and more fun in 4 player mode

Powerstone was my favourite Dreamcast game but I never cared much for the sequel. With 4 players, over reliance on weapons/items and the moving stages it got too crazy and random for my liking - I much preferred the 1v1 battles of the original where the smaller arenas and selection of weapons made fighting over the actual power stones a far more focused affair.
