Shame on you! It was really cool back in the late 90's but then Konami just dragged it on and on and on.

Because a lot of something is a bad thing right?

It is when they don't mix it up enough. Street Fighter is a good one. I was a massive fan but after zero 3 and 3rd strike I lost interest. I really loved beat mania but grew tired after the 5 one.

But they did mix it up.

Beatmania 3 added a pedal and II Deluxe added two extra buttons.

Fair point to me that was more a gimmick but I can see the appeal of the foot pedal but the extra buttons basically made it in to an un-cute pop'n music.

I think the turntable is enough to make it drastically different to Pop'n, but fair enough.

Interestingly a few versions after they stopped making the PlayStation 2 games (Empress) they introduced hold notes, like in DJ Max or DDR.

Yep, and I can't bloody stand 'em (hold notes, that is). Tonnes of QoL changes too, like sudden+, variable HS, etc... Towel mod for life! Both Beatmania and IIDX changed a lot as different artists came and went too - I really can't stand a lot of the tracks on newer styles :/

                      Physical purchases for January:

PS2 Tales of - games courtesy of Big Al! Both are in excellent condition. My new copy of Wolfenstein arrived today. The plastic on the spine was ripped on my first copy so I returned it to ShopTo.net and they refunded it with the postage free of charge. Great service. I don't know if it's region specific but I think the Halo box is a few millimeters shorter than the Wolfenstein one. Also, if anyone is asking, Halo plays in full English despite being a Japanese copy.

digital purchases: Grim Fandango (PS4), Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Prime Trilogy both for Wii U and Soldier Blade for Wii VC

Should showcasing digital purchases become a thing?

Nice gets. Planning to cop Wolfenstein myself, it's cheap as chips now.

That's the future of this thread mate. Just a series of screenshots of download bars

PS3 mate. I keep it old school.

Wolfenstein is excellent. I highly recommend it for the setting alone. I'm really enjoying and put it in immediately after I got the game back. Not a big FPS player myself so it's says something, I guess.

Neither am I, not at all. But I really fancy a blaster and I was a big fan of Wolf3D and then RTCW. I just really like the supernatural Nazi stuff and Boy's Own stylings

Good to hear it lives up to expectations.
