Just what can you say to people who have attitudes like this or is the future of the industry really a potential lost cause?

Calling their mother a syphilitic goat normally seems to do the trick.

In all seriousness though, the majority of these people have never played half the games they slag off (they are doing it to defend their ignorance basically). The way forward for this, as far as I have found, is to do your damnedest to enthuse about said game and hope that they figure out why you love it so much.

Put it this way, I now have an entire office of EA games testers obsessively playing Psyvariar!
