I haven't played it for a while but I think it does get a bit trickier after the first mansion. It's not like Monkey Island hard or anything but it holds your hand less. Some of the secrets (like the Boos) are quite cleverly hidden so that adds some extra challenge.

i found it gets slightly harder as you progress, i blame poor signposting or my inability to see things on such a tiny screen lol. theirs loads of secrets to find if you search every area well, but...

For me it never really clicked like the original did one or two shockingly bad bits of level design and a feeling they had stretched out bits of the game really soured the game for me, the unforgivable bit for me was chasing the ghost dog, once would have been fine buy it pops up far to much and it stinks of trying to stretch the game out and it sucked balls.

I really should go back and finish the game, I'm like in the final mansion. Anyone else have a problem with finishing games? For some reason, I often play games almost through but then, for some unexplainable reason don't finish them and when something new comes along, they get left on the shelf.

Also since I've linked my Nintendo ID account to my 3ds it takes ages to connect to the eshop

Its currently broken across all regions, too many people are hammering it making it impossible to get in. Shall hopefully settle in a few days.
