Planescape: Torment Spiritual Successor in works

It will not be set in Planescape setting or use D&D rules as those are owned by Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast.

The game would be made by inXile games and Colin McComb who worked on the original game with Chris Avellone. Avellone said that McComb has his "blessing" for the game but it's not known if he will be a part of it as he's working on Obsidian's Project Eternity. The game is still in early pre-production as most of inXile are probably working on the upcoming Wasteland 2. It's unknown if this will be a Kickstarter project, but that would seem likely, especially if Wasteland 2 does well.

Apparently they have the name "Torment" trademarked already.

Kickstarter is now live and going through the roof with donations pouring in! In a few minutes they have already gathered $120,000!

Good news, my good man! There's a pledge level for $45 which includes both Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera as digital downloadable copies. Wasteland 2 should be done late this year.

Also, the total amount of pledges has already reached $1.7 million dollars and they have added some stretch goals, most of which have already been reached! This has the potential to beat even Obsidian's Project Eternity.

Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter is nearing it's end with 59 hours to go, so there's still time to jump in. The total raised at the moment is $3.43 million + Paypal donations. Because of the success of the fund raising, the release date has been pushed back to 2015 from December 2014, so it's still a long way off.

That is awesome, can't wait for this and Pillers! Wish they gave Torment the Enhanced Edition treatment as I can't get it to look nice without the font/menu being seriously small.
