The return of NTSC UK?

On one hand, I can't help but think that region locking is utterly backwards and designed purely to control the consumer with no benefits for us at all. On the other, I do miss the import "scene", if not the prices. Reading back issues of Super Play over breakfast probably doesn't help.
Region locking demos is just dumb, though.

I've recently started increasing my importing.
Japanese Wii-U on the way, Japanese 3DS LL is my handheld of choice.
I've stuck with PAL PS3/Vita PSN account because of beat-em-ups and the occasional game on PS+.
Basically, Dragon Quest X and Monster Hunter 3D HD Ver. decided it for me. (Mainly DQX)

The only few games I was interested in import over this past decade was Resident Evil 4 because it was ?20 on import from Canada, Animal Crossing as it was not being released in the UK and Demon's Souls but with that I borrowed it from a mate at work.
The import scene changed completely with the Dreamcast as SEGA were on the ball with release dates but even more importantly, they included a 60hz mode as standard with all of the 1st party releases. Nowadays their is little reason for me to import and with the competitive pricing we enjoy in the UK, I'm happy to stay PAL-UK!
