    The best games are Korean.

On one hand, I can't help but think that region locking is utterly backwards and designed purely to control the consumer with no benefits for us at all. On the other, I do miss the import "scene", if not the prices. Reading back issues of Super Play over breakfast probably doesn't help.

Region locking demos is just dumb, though.

The best games are JRPGs dubbed with massively out of place Welsh accents.

And anything involving air traffic control, or train driving.

I've recently started increasing my importing.
Japanese Wii-U on the way, Japanese 3DS LL is my handheld of choice.
I've stuck with PAL PS3/Vita PSN account because of beat-em-ups and the occasional game on PS+.

Basically, Dragon Quest X and Monster Hunter 3D HD Ver. decided it for me. (Mainly DQX)

The best games are Japanese versions of trash western games released a year late for twice the price and with no English text.

There's no excuse for avoiding PAL stuff on region free consoles.

The games only available on import are mostly games I have no interest in playing. I'm obviously not a 'serious' gamer.

Same here, although I like to think I'm a serious gamer... Whatever that means!

The only few games I was interested in import over this past decade was Resident Evil 4 because it was ?20 on import from Canada, Animal Crossing as it was not being released in the UK and Demon's Souls but with that I borrowed it from a mate at work.

The import scene changed completely with the Dreamcast as SEGA were on the ball with release dates but even more importantly, they included a 60hz mode as standard with all of the 1st party releases. Nowadays their is little reason for me to import and with the competitive pricing we enjoy in the UK, I'm happy to stay PAL-UK!

I like it when people can't read between the lines.

Completely agree - the problem for me is that a key game for me (Dragon Quest X) is not going to be available over here for a long time..

I think as I have got older, the hassle of importing has increased to a point I can't be bothered. Multiple PSN accounts? Nah. I just want to plug and play like the old days.

The loss of independent gaming shops has also meant I can no longer browse the imports or pick up one second hand.
