    The Twelve Games of Christmas

So we're all (probably) getting something gaming-related for Christmas, but what will you be playing on the run up until the big day? There are 12 days left (including today) so why not play something different each day just to make a change? Those of use who have sizeable backlogs should have no trouble finding something.

    Day 1

Super Robot Taisen Compact 3 (WonderSwan Color/Crystal)
Got this the other day to fill a hole in my SRW collection. The only platform this game has ever been available on and that is unlikely to change. First play thread will come later!

    Alan Wake

I've had this for the 360 for ages and never got round to playing it. I'm getting a bit bored of Pro Evo and haven't touched anything retro in ages so I thought I'd give this a go. It seems 'wintery' what with being set in the mountains and mainly at night (from what I can tell) so I thought it'd be ideal.

I don't think I could think of 12 games that could each be completed in 1 day.

        Who said anything about completing?

I often do some special gaming around Christmas. A game I've played before around the same time, or maybe a game with snow and/or a holiday setting. This year I've done nothing like that. My WiiU might get Christmas associations in later years as it will probably take up a lot of my gaming time this holiday.

I had the same reaction to Noobish at this idea. While some game genres are good for a short visit (fighters, arcade etc), I rarely play games without the intention of seeing them through. If I stop playing a game before completion it's only because playing it has become a chore. My favourite games are mostly adventure-ish, and I can't even imagine playing any of them for just one day before jumping into something else. I feel much more time is needed to get immersed in the universe. But then again, that's mostly due to the genres I prefer.

Games you can complete in under a day:
            00 Tetris
            01 Super Mario Land
            02 Super Mario Bros
            03 Super Mario Bros 3
            04 Cybernator
            05 Starwing
            06 Starfox 64/Lylat Wars
            07 Ikari no Kichi/Contra
            08 Conduit 2
            09 Super Mario 64
            10 Simpsons Arcade Game
            11 Nano Assault Neo

            There you go noobish.

I think I've made a thread in the past about short games. I don't think I could find 12 though that I would especially feel like playing at Christmas.

You can add Castlevania SOTN to that list as its easily completable in a day .. .(a long day admittedly) ... although you may struggle to do the upside down castle and 200% in one day.

Finishing up Borderlands 2 and Dark Souls. Then starting a new Skyrim game on PC with some awesome looking mods, and maybe the DLC.

There are only 3 I like to play around christmas

                      Shenmue
                      Christmas Nights
                      Animal Crossing

I can only play Nights this year as I have no DC or GC anymore

Well SRW:C3 was what I expected - something that needed to be played in direct sunlight, lol.

                        Day 2

                        NiGHTS on PS3.

Never played the original and bought this while it had a PS+ discount on it. Hopefully unlock Christmas NiGHTS in time for the big day...

I shall go for it too, think I will theme mine alongside Steam.
12 days of un-installed Steam games. I will only play games I have previously bought and not installed/played.
Right now I am about to install and play, Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time.
Name alone means this will be great.
