Crytek has it. The ex FRD guys will probably deliver Homefront 2 some day. Its development was apparently said to be unaffected by the THQ troubles.

I'd like to see that. Homefront was a game of great ideas poorly executed. Crytek could really do a lot with that franchise.

So this has taken a turn.

It has now been approved that THQ's assets will go to auction.

"Parties have come to agreement: THQI auction now on Jan 22nd. The auction will allow for piecemeal ("title by title") sales of THQ assets."

EA and Warner are both confirmed bidders for assets.

Wonder what they are going for?

EA will take WWE I reckon. They've got MMA now so the two fit well together.

I reckon Warner will be after Saints Row.

I thought Ubisoft was sniffing about it, but wanted to pay peanuts for everything and just hoover up anything that is left.

They will all be sniffing around for a deal - it almost means nothing though. WB & EA are also looking from the various articles.

EA will be all over Saints Row. I hope someone decent gets Metro, loved the first and the second is looking great too.

Would love to see the next Darksiders game done with a bit more polish, I'm really enjoying Darksiders 2 but it seems a lot more rough around the edges than the first game, was it rushed out?. It really feels like a game that could of done with another 6 months in development to polish it all off, little things like the stuttering loading when you get an new item, or go through a door really shouldn't be in the final game.

Problem is whether anyone feels they can make it work after it underperformed.

Darksiders as a brand has massive issue with value, its one of them games that seems to have lost its retail value very very quickly. ps3 xbox versions can be had for about a tenner and i wouldent say its an old game, i think this cheapens a brand massively and makes people think twice about purchasing new games in the series at launch.

Sketcz has an interesting blog entry about THQ's archives and the whereabouts of the Akira development assets over at HG101. Makes me wonder what happened when Acclaim went under and the public paid money to raid the offices.

The sale has taken place, the big losers are Vigil (Darksiders) who are sadly no more. Seems nobody even wanted the IP.

Really pleased to see Relic still going though.

Couple of interesting ones there, Crytek have bought the IP to the sequel they are working on

also lol Koch Media, looks like they pushed the boat out a bit far with their bid!
