There's not a word of Yakuza 5 coming out in English, but Nagoshi said that the next instalment in the Ryu ga Gotoku/Yakuza series is already in the works and it will NOT be coming to the PS3 which most likely means it's going to be a next generation title. He also said that the game "will have more physical experience, and the battle system will have some new innovations to broaden the gameplay".

I've got some nagging feeling Yakuza 5 isn't going to get an EU release. I think Dead Souls killed it over here.

I really hope not - I would've imagined sales expectations for Dead Souls were pretty low, too.

It doesn't look promising at all for Y5 really didn't the localization producer of 4 and DS leave Sega last year.

How might Dead Souls have killed it? (Not griping: serious question). I thought DS sold quite nicely and would've been an encouragement for more localization...?

EDIT: Guess what? I was reading Dead Souls for Dark Souls! No wonder it didn't make sense. I am a twat. But I'll leave this stand on the internet forever as a testament to my idiocy.

Sales figures for Dead Souls are hard to get but a month or two after its western release sales were a shade over 100,000 for all territories other than Japan. Plus, we'd have usually heard by now going of 4 and Dead Souls and with next gen looming I'd say the series is done over here :/
