I think its fair to say it will be about the PS4 and it will be called the PS4, but I have been known to be wrong .... from time to time ...

I really can't see it being anything else considering the mainstream websites are all calling it, and have been for some time.

Last year when I was in the market for a new TV, I was eagerly awaiting the announcement of Panasonic's successor to 2011's VT30 plasma. The VT30 had followed the VT20, which followed the V10... So it was a given that the 2012 model would be a VT40 right? Nope. VT50. (and VT60 this year as if nothing happened). Such is the superstition in Japan regarding the number 4.

If another big Japanese company (Panasonic) think its a bad omen to have a product with '4' in the title, then you'd have to consider that Sony may think like-wise.

It'll still get abbreviated to PS4 everywhere else though. If its even called that.

My crazy bet. The Xbox 720 and PS IV is actually one and the same. They're joining forces as a shared platform....

Isn't 4 considered an unlucky number in Japan? It'll be a new PlayStation reveal, but won't be called PS4.
