Do you play crap games to completion?

Nier is a good example actually. I only persevered with that because I'd heard it was good and it was bloody good!!

I wouldn't say that Nier was the best example in this instance. A lot of people that play Nier now will do so because of the positive word of mouth and the common knowledge that despite its grasp exceeding its budget, it's really good.

I used to force myself to complete games even if I wasn't really enjoying, but I can't be bothered anymore. If it's not up to scratch it's worth more to me as quick trade-in.

There was a game on the C64 called Skel. I can highly unrecommend it. I tried to play it. The cover looked good. The screenshot looked good. My ?1.99 was well spent I thought. Until I loaded it. What a pile of turd. But I played it for a week anyway.

Doesn't happen much these days though.

I don't typically buy crap games. I don't have a compulsion to buy every game that gets released and even if one turns out to be kind of average I will still wring every last ounce of gaming time out of it... the last game I bought that comes close to being described as 'crap' was FFXIII (and that was only crap in terms of gameplay, it was immaculately produced) and I platinummed it so yeah I guess I do.

I don't buy crap games to begin with. When the 360 launched I used to fall into the trap of buying the weekly/monthly 'AAA' that came out but those days were short lived after I realised 97% of it was dogger.

I have so much less time to play games these days that it really needs to be good for me to invest a great deal of time into. The only exception being FPS as they are usually quite short games anyway.

My standards are so high these days that I think most games are crap. Even games that I know are actually good often don't grab me

I used to finish games I'd paid for just to try and get my moneys worth. Now we have a young daughter gaming time is a luxury every now and again so if it's not up to scratch I stop playing.

Resi evil 6 is the perfect example, it should be at least playable with some good parts and a decent story. It wasn't!! Probably the biggest let down in a long time, almost unplayable for me. I'll never let it touch my Xbox again!!

Funnily enough, Resident Evil 6 is one of the few recent games that I did buy and complete, despite not really enjoying it. It's just one of those series' where I'm a completist, same with Sonic.

I completed Resi 6. It was crap despite a good start with Leon. Finished it and sold it the next day. Cost me about ?12 for two weeks play.
