Right, but I was wondering if anyone thought them important on a social, cultural, or even on a utilitarian level. Videogames are important to me on a personal level, they've given me god knows how many hours of enjoyment over the last 30 years and hopefully many more to come, but if they vanished tomorrow I'd soon find other things to replace them. I guess the only thing I would ask in response to that is why we tend to single out games in that sense, when they surely have just as much 'importance' as other forms of media. Regardless of the form of the media, the level of importance is down to the perception of the receiver.Comment

Every other media such as films, books & music are passive. Games provide such a unique thrill to me, there's nothing else like them.Comment
