OK kids, we all like games right? And when we pre order a game we want to get it as soon as possible right?
Well, this is a thread where we document the best places to pre order with regards to delivery only. I don't care pre order bonuses or price, this is about who sends out games early.
Add your reply with your experience and I'll update the original post so we have a kind of guide. This includes import sites.
Note: the immediate ulterior motive is working out whether I can get Bioshock Infinite for this weekend. Zavvi have come through for me before but I want to get other people's experiences.
Shopto.net - They often send out games early but do adhere to publisher mandated shipping dates. This means you generally get games on the Thursday but occasionally you get games very early. I got Street Fighter 4 on the Tuesday rather than the Friday. I have never received a game released on a Tuesday in the week or weekend before hand. If they can get away with it they dispatch as soon as they get stock. Sometimes for big releases they post on their site or email customers about dispatch dates set by the publisher that they are sticking to.
Game - They usually dispatch on the Wednesday meaning on the Thursday. I have had several items from them arrive on the Saturday. They also have a track record of cancelling pre-orders for limited editions when they oversell.
Amazon - Normally dispatch Wednesday or Thursday though I've had items not dispatch until the Friday. I have had several Prime (one day delivery) items miss the Friday launch day by taking more than one day. Despite paying for Prime, they stick DVD sized packages in the normal post rather than courier them. Not really prime.
Simplygames - Good reports on shipping early. They shipped Bioshock Infinite early and are cheap.
VideoGamesPlus (www.videogamesplus.ca) - usually ship on release day. Few instances of games shipped early (most recent examples are Etrian Odyssey IV and Monster Hunter 3 WiiU shipped a couple of days ahead of release day), but also few instances of games shipped a couples of days after release day because they received stock late.
PlayAsia (www.play-asia.com) - normally ships when they receive stock. This could mean two-three days earlier than release date. If using express shipping (UPS, FedEx) this could mean getting the game on release day or even before.
AmiAmi (www.amiami.com) - when they receive stock, they have shipping costs (based on package weight and where to ship), and payment confirmation; normally a couple of days after release date.
Nin Nin Game (www.nin-nin-game.com) - when they receive stock. Only one preorder with them, which was shipped a couple of days after release date.
