HOLY MOLY another Unreal 4 Tech Demo

    That is seriously impressive

Running in real time on a Single Geforce GTX680!

Shame it's so dark. Can't any of these mega systems do bright colours?

If the forthcoming generation is that handy in games I can imagine this gen being a bigger leap than many suspected.

I can actually say that I'm impressed. That was impressive. Impressively impressive.

There was something about the depth of field too - it was like using eyes for some of it.

Didn't like the "dirty lens" look though. What's the point in that?

It's the new lens flare. The human can't see it but wannabe directors think it is cool.

All EA games feature it by default

A Geforce GTX680 is still a long way beyond what's in the next gen consoles though isn't it?

              0_o.

They still use Unreal Engine 3 for games these days, was giving Hawken a run earlier and that looks pretty great still, look forward to seeing what this can do.

It is, but I'd challenge you to run Bioshock Infinite or Crysis 3 on even a top end 2005 graphics card and come away with a framerate

This was a tech demo for the geforce 7800 which was similar to the PS3's graphics card.

We are so far beyond that now it's exciting what we will have in another 7 years time.

                    Woah!

Be nice to see this and the 3.5 tech demo turn into fully fleshed out games.

                    Slight aside,

Are Nvidia back on top atm? last time I checked they were getting absolutely tooled, both in price and performance, by AMD.

He would say that, they aren't using Nvidia in the PS4.
It's in interest to slag off consoles and say PC's are better, don't forget that.

Low end GPU is what most ?300 PC world laptops have, that is not what the PS4 will have.

I can't really believe this is realtime, it seems better than a lot of cgi movies.

The compressions is hiding some of the jaggies that are still present, I'm sure that if you saw it running natively on a screen it would look a bit more like we expect a game to look.

Also, a very good example of why we won't see 60fps as standard anytime soon.

Not really a surprise but unreal 4 isnt coming to wiiu (neither is frostbite). Pretty much kills third party support doesnt it?

The previous UE4 demos i've ripped apart, put them back together, seen all of the ins-and outs- They've all been very impressive, yet not as inspiring as I would hope, mostly flash... But this is interesting... There is a lot going on here, and if it isnt all smoke and mirrors, like most tech demos area... (sadly) then exciting times indeed. Hopefully in the next few builds I should be able to see how this demo was made!
