    PS3 scene

I'm out of touch. What's the status on playing PS3 backups? Is it possible yet? Is it easy?

Anyone providing links to guides and stuff will get banned as per the rules, so I'm just asking. Possbile? Easy? Limitations?

Whoa charlesr, we're not allowed to discuss piracy here.

    Also: No.

Then why there are PS3 ISOs floating around the net? I'm totally out of this, just asking.

You need 3.55 OFW, and then exploit it. And then you can FTP ISOs to your PS3's HDD. You cannot downgrade to 3.55 without opening your machine now, and even if you have a recent update I'm not sure if it's possible.

What the f*ck is this Charles, you threatened to ban me for asking the same basic question about PS2 games ~9 years ago. Lol.

EDIT: The teeny tiny games shop in Chinatown (on Shaftesbury Avenue) always has stock of 3.55 systems. They throw a bunch of games on the HDD for ya too. Around ?180 - ?200 I think.

I, I know of a game called 'Scene It' or something, on the Microsoft Xbox 360 system, officer. Not sure if that's on the Sony Playstation Three. My name? Sh... Sh.. Shadow Dancer.

It's like the time that a Nintendo rep asked me how to hack her Wii at work. (Ahem.)

I can just imagine Charles typing his original post at gunpoint before being led into the back of a van with a bag over his head. Then, somewhere overseas, Kaz closes his laptop and starts eating his lunch.

A 'friend of mine' looked into this for a PS3 at work ... Suffice to say it wasn't particularly difficult!

Provided your PS3 isn't up to date no.

I'm not asking HOW. Please don't give me any details. I'm just wanting to know if it's possible. By the sounds if it, unless you have an old never been on the internet machine, then it's not possible, so essentially, the answer is no?

Anyone providing links to guides and stuff will get banned as per the rules. I probably should have said that in my first post LOL.

There is a possibility to get it done but as said, it's quite difficult. I find no need though, as the only reason I'd mod a console in the first place would be to make it region free, which the PS3 essentially is.

While I'm very much against piracy it is a shame there are no methods, that I'm aware of, to run homebrew on the PS3 and 360. Look at the thriving DC homebrew scene and the quality of releases we see there.

Its not really difficult at all now and if you know were to look and you can 4TB drives filled. Couldnt really be bothered myself (although i did get an one of the early jailbreak usbs for emulation but that was a pain to use as i had no home internet at the time). Soon gave up, and updated the FW on the unit which was a jp unit, to what i now use as a region A bluray player.
