LOL, what a load of crap.

As for the topic, I wouldn't mind Sonic and maybe a few other characters in the next Mario Kart, as long as Nintendo is the one making it.

Personally, I love Mario Kart but I got more enjoyment from Transformed than any recent Mario Kart. Not saying it's a better game (it may be) but I can definitely say I enjoyed it more. And I would be happy to see Nintendo characters added to the mix. The Nintendo characters are incredibly strong and if Sumo/Sega/whoever could give them the attention the Sega characters got in Transformed, I'd be very, very happy.

That said, I'd be happy if Transformed expanded without Nintendo characters and Mario Kart just continued as is too.

One thing that Transformed does well is that it manages to be more than a mere kart racing game. It is somewhere between a kart racer and traditional arcade racer, and is much more engrossing for single players as a result.

Sega has a strong line-up of characters, and this was demonstrated by Transformed. But it would not be unreasonably to suggest that the line-up is probably more 'niche'.

I found the character roster fine, it needs a few tweaks but I only ever played as Vyse anyway! I just don't know how you guys can get around the boat and flying sections, I enjoy the driving parts but the other sections ruined it.

Comments about the weapons above I strongly agree on and just going back to level design. Take for example Skies, being given a license like that and that was the best they could come up with?

One thing that Diddy Kong did right for me again that I have not seen done(well) again is a small overworld between the level sections. Not sure everyone will agree on this either but the boss racers in other games have never come close to how great the Wiz Pig races were.

Did nobody also feel that the vehicles in Sonic seem a tad large?

It would maybe be a good idea as mentioned above for them both to continue on their own track but for them to do something like Tekken Tag and throw in a few things for the Wii U version like a Bowsers Castle track and a few Nintendo characters/weapons. (Although that may screw their weapon balancing)

Looks like you all love Mario Kart but just because someone doesn't doesn't make their post "a load of crap" or being a troll. I honestly do not find enjoyment in most of Nintendo first party games or characters. I love the Super Famicom but I don't love any of the first party titles for it. Well, maybe F Zero but that's it. Same with Mario games in general. I'm just not a fan. Tried them all over time but.......

a new take on Mario Kart is needed, i fully expect MK8 to be as bland and boring as MKwii. I put 1 to 2hr in to wii version but between the same old crap and cheating A.I. I never went back to it.

If they could turn it into transformed for Ninty (with or with out sega guys) it would at least offer arcade racing and a chance to see tracks and music based on the likes of Metriod, F-zero, Pok?mon.

Mario Kart is obviously best in multi-player. Same room multi-player. I wouldn't even consider it a viable single player game for me to play.

It's true though, it's been going downhill since the pinnacle of the N64 version.

Different tastes are fine, but when you post comments like "MK is awful compared to Sonic Racing" or "all of the MK games after Super Mario Kart are bad", you should be prepared to see some strong responses.

I find Mario Kart is peaks and troughs. For me:

                        -Super Mario Kart: Great
-Mario Kart 64: Also great in its own way
-Mario Kart Super Circuit: Good fun
-Mario Kart Double Dash: Start of quality drop
-Mario Kart DS: OK but nothing special
-Mario Kart Wii: Another weak entry
-Mario Kart 7: Not perfect but a solid improvement

The Namco GP entries are a nice novelty but they're nothing special and pale to the main series.

The blue shell is the worst crime, serves no function at all as you're more likely to get in in 6th plus place where 1st place is least of your concerns. 2nd and 3rd place should be focusing on the lead where the red and green shells do a fine enough job, axe it altogether.

The Blue Shell is very important to the balance of the race. 1st place is hands down the easiest spot to race, there's no one infront of you, you can drive really fast and take the corners perfectly plus you only have to worry about people behind you. You can block all of the Red Shells coming from behind with Bananas and other items. Without Blue Shell to break things up, most races would just end with one person taking a huge lead at 1st place while everyone else would be fighting behind.

I'd rather they rebalanced the red shell defence mechanic though than have the cheap blue shell. It's just an excuse not to properly balance the game

I can't see this happening as the 3DS and Wii U already have their Mario Kart games. What I would like to see is Sumo take on the F-Zero series. The latest Sonic Racing is superb and in some areas reminded me of F-Zero GX greatly.

Not when the person miles behind with no chance of winning gets a blue shell.
