Images for the 4 characters that got announced earlier today (pardon the large image sizes):

Good to see that they all appear to be of their in-game models. Gives a better idea of what to expect of the game proper.

@Soundwave: Funny you suggested that Venom and Potemkin would be for the chopping block. So, who else do you think will be cut from the cast then btw?

i like the new look for Potemkin

I prefer guilty gear x to blazblue ...blazblue just got a bit to hardcore for me what would be the basic easy to use characters in most fighting games well in blazblue i always felt all the characters started at a mid level as even ragna takes some insane timings to do the good stuff

There's a stack of pics from the location test over on this website down the bottom part of the page (and if you run the text through Google translate you'll get a general idea of what they thought of the game):

N.B This image would make any fan of the series sick with envy (but a little bit chuffed as well I guess) :

And also, Dragon Install Sol looking beastly :

And finally, one for the fans (pardon the God-awful pun) :

Group shot of all the characters available to play at the location test:

For footage keep your eyes on NicoNico first where I imagine it'll appear for a handful of days before ASW get on top of it and issue a cease and desist. I too am looking forward to versus/playable footage as well. Seems the game is turning out to be the series' SFIII/KOF XIII/Vampire Saviour in lovely all-around great quality to say the least.

I went to the location test yesterday, lined up almost 3 hours just to play single player for about 3 minutes lol. Was quite suprised how many people there were considering it was a weekday!

They had 4 single player machines, and about 12 or so VS machines.

Have only ever dabbled in past GG games, but felt it played like past games very naturally, except with better graphics.
The game also has all sorts of small anime-type cutscenes, for character intros, for certain super moves, and after you chase the character into the air when you hit them with the dust button.

I think GG fans will like this game a lot, and new players would enjoy it a lot too.
I liked it, just would never line 3 hours to play it again though!! lol

I dunnot its hard to tell from the footage but to me it looks like a much more simple game then what arc have done in the past few years

that first background music i kept thinking cowboys from hell by pantera

Coming out on consoles in the West later this year. PS$ and PS3 have crossplay functionality which is awesome and there will be extra characters.

Can`t quite tell, but I think the sprites are traditional 2D and they switch briefly to 3D models for the specials.

                              It's 3D - http://www.polycount.com/forum/showt...=121144&page=9 - even the damn smoke is hand-animated!

Ah, it`s half and half: lots of sequential 2D objects overlayed over a 3D skeleton. For example when the characters move, they distort in a forced perspective (anime style) way which would be very difficult for 3D model.
