What talent Rare once had, is long gone. And also the support from Nintendo, which I imagine was one of the main reasons for the quality of their earlier games.

      Kinect Sports 3...

Regarding the media functionality its one of the biggest misteps they're taking. It kind of goes completely against market direction whilst offering no advantages to even justify it with even if you do live in the country that primarily its designed for. It's exactly the kind of multimedia waffle that contributed to sinking PS3 at launch.

Nintendo Rare and MS Rare are completely different animals sadly. Little point in hoping to see anything like their Nintendo-years output for XBone.

From interviews I've read it might not have been the support from Nintendo, more-so the freedom that Nintendo allowed them. Rare looked to Japanese developers for inspiration so it was a great fit.

The more I think about Rares classic IP's the more it feels like its Killer Instinct

Banjo anf Perfect Dark won't get another airing, no chance of Kameo and not much else fits the Xbox image. A fleshed out modern take of Blastcorps would be awesome and show off the visuals but all I have to do is think what would MS commission and KI rears its head.

On thinking, its a little curious that there was no mention of multiple Sku's given MS pushed the idea at the 360's launch and all three have made heavy use of it this gen to appeal to various gamer types and budgets

Gamestop, who are supposed to be chatting with MS on various things, say they expect Xbox One and PS4 to cost less than their predecessors. I'm assuming that comparison sets aside the 360 Core. Would a sub $300-$350 price tag affect what you chose for the poll?

Myself...I want nothing to do with Kinect so won't be buying one. So it is looking like a PS4 for me.
+1 Other than my parents, nobody that I know watches tv or has any sort of subscription service. We all just stream bbci player or download, neither of which requires subscription or a tv licence. Where is this mythical target audience which values regular tv so highly?

The Core console bit them and gamers on the arse later down the line.

They've stated they are only planning on one Unit this time, I'd like to see a more expensive option with a larger HDD though

Its the level of install that's the issue. The PS4 has been rumoured as having 250GB which as long as it installs data in the same manner as PS3 (though as the game plays) it should be manageable.

Sure you can attach a storage drive but most don't which makes me wonder how long the XBO's will be suitable for

                        I'm guessing:

"Hard drive full. You haven't played gears of War 5 for over 9 months. Shall i uninstall that to make room?"

Lol, well if you're pirating TV shows then yeah, you don't need a subscription. Except maybe to usenet. And to watch iPlayer, technically and legally speaking you are required to have a TV license.

Presumably the Xbone will have all the catch up TV features you could want built in. Just like on your current Xbox and PS3! TV is so bad anyway, who cares?

Nope, not true - only if you're watching live.

That was kind of my point.

Yep, I read up on that to make sure that no licence is required.

With the TV functions pretty much unavailable at launch in the EU its going to rest on the games even more so anyway, which makes the situation even more dire based on the reveal
