Well, here we go, this years NFS is official and coming to both Xboxs and both Playstations. After Most Wanted I'd had some fun with it but was tired of what was essentially the same game as the year befores but opened up and also having an inferior title to Criterions pre-NFS days.

I scratch this off then as it sounds almost identical. An open world city, well known cars, cops chasing you down, the additional things like EMP from Hot Pursuit returns. Only difference is you can now also be the cops as opposed to last years game.

The other Difference is that it isn't coming to Wii-U

Get rid of the cops. I hated finishing a race and having to spend 10-15 minutes losing the fuzz.

In what may be one of the best bits of news this year, Ghost Games has taken over as lead on the NFS series from Criterion.

For me, Criterion lost more with their NFS entries than NFS gained so to see them step away from it is good in my eyes. Ghost plans to make the series more coherent from here on with less sub brands and styles year to year with Rivals leading the direction onwards. Hopefully this will also mean Criterion will retirn to the long overdue and much superior Burnout series now.

It's whether or not I choose this over #DriveClub.

It reminds me a lot of Hot Pursuit in the footage, I was unsure at first but as my bundle comes with DriveClub anyway I figured why not. Even then, you'd still have DriveClub+ to fall back on. I'm hoping more info/footage for DriveClub comes up soon, Sony seems very low key on the game.

Will this have a 2 player split screen mode? Will hashtag Driveclub?

It pisses me off so much that it's somehow OK to omit split screen modes in racing games these days. Sitting in the same room playing with my mates is 10x more fun than online imo. What really made me laugh was how the most recent NFS claimed to be 'the most social racing game ever'....yet I couldn't actually play it with any of my mates like I could practically any racing game from PS2 backwards. Ridiculous.

At least I can rely on Mario Kart.

I'm convinced that hashtag Driveclub is a very poor title. This is why you hear nothing about it, and it'd also free.

I think you're probably right J0e. Any game that has a hashtag for a title and no 2 player mode is bound to be a load of bollocks anyway frankly.

EDIT: Just checked and it was confirmed some time ago that this won't feature split screen. Sigh. I guess I'll just buy 2 PS4s and 2 copies of the game, that seems reasonable.
