    Price Matching

I've Googled this but all the results I got were over 18 months old so unsure if the answers I found were up to date with current store policy.

Basically, late this weekend or next Monday I've got 4 games to trade in at GAME and I noticed they will price match on trades and add a pound per title that you've matched.

Does this work against CEX prices though? I ask because it's not something I've bothered with before but having checked out the listings I'll get ?67 at GAME and ?111 at CEX so if they do match it it'll come in very handy and it's a mahoosive difference.

It always did in gamestation, go in with a print off from the CEX website and then you'll be set.

remembers its ?1 extra in total, not per item

Ive never seen them give up the ?1 voluntarily, so you may need to ask for it.

Cheers Definitely going to give it a go then, I've been trading at GAME since HMV went under so if it works I've probably been getting fleeced for months

They are supposed to yes, but print the prices and it has to be within 1 mile of the store. I used to do this at Grainger Games but they stopped all matching last week

ETC is right, you'll need to get CEX to print out the p/ex prices on a receipt I think. Used to be that way.

Trouble is GAME still shaft you with their high prices when you go to buy something with the p/ex credit you've got.

You checked what Amazon offer for the games?

Cool, I'll report back as to how it goes, just gotta finish the games and they're gone. Getting the price match would handily top up my store credit there to a point where my PS4 preorder would be paid off

A lot depends on the store too some are sound and will accept the CEX website on your phone, some want a printed copy, some want a receipt and a few will even check on their work PC for you (thanks old metrocentre store )

A lot depends on the manager its up to them really. Nice manager that values your custom you will have no problems, stressed or pissed off manager you may as well walk to Cex, HMV's app is still live you sure they don't trade anymore?

Not sure what's going on with HMV at the mo'. Thankfully my CEX is a few yards from GAME and they seem pretty cheerful in GAME. I can print off a trade list that morning so I'll give that a go before queuing for ages in CEX, if they don't then I'll pop down and see about getting a reciept from the store.

I'm the type not to usually bother with the fuss but it's a good 40% difference

Personally I accept seeing it on a phone providing it can be refreshed in front of me (not just a "print screen" from a coupled days ago where the prices may have changed).

Most stores have got a PC in their office too so they can check for you.

Also, if the CEX trade price is close to or the same as the Game pre-orderowned sale price they may not match it.

Example; God of War Ascension was ?19.99 in Game and CEX were giving ?22.50 trade. In that case they probably won't match.

I forgot to add that weird bit in about Cex sometimes offering more. I don't know if its common but I have asked in a game in that instance if they would match to ?1 short of their selling price but that really is down to if you are on decent terms with them etc

I might struggle with one of the games then as I can't imagine its sold for too much but two of them are brand new releases and the last is pretty recent so I think they're still sold second hand at high prices so should be safe.

                        Cheers d00ds!
