rETro Excavation - The search for an Urban Legend

This was probably one of Mulder & Scully's case files, but they never got 'round to opening it.

The truth is out there ...

Fuel Entertainment will search an area of desert in New Mexico for copies of a failed Atari video game said to be buried there.

"We don't know exactly what we'll find, but it's bound to be interesting," he said.

    Or not...

    Why?

They'll either find the games or they won't. Wow. Can't wait to find out.

It's a great story, the stuff of gaming legends. I'd love it if they found them and some of the carts still worked.

Nice AV. Wonder how much a cement covered working ET cart would make on ebay.

There's some ET carts there probably, and other games, and hardware. Essentially the El Paso plant had a clear out in mid 1983, dumped a ton of spare stuff in the ground and concreted it over. Only over time the legend sprung up regarding millions of ET carts. I'd be amazed if there weren't plenty of ET carts there, but millions? Doubtful.
