    The Witcher 3

One of the most impressive games at the xbox conference. This could be seriously good.

That looked amazing. Weather effects, water, foliage, fire, enemy designs all looking very impressive.

I never really got into this series. I played a little of a demo of the 1st game, got bored quite quickly and never tried to get any further as I had many other games to play. Hope the combat has more of an action style.

Well witcher 2 is still one of the best looking games ever so no surprise that 3 would look stunning. First game was made with the dragon age engine but looks easy better than dragon age.

On GT, the dev basically admitted the combat in Witcher 2 was pants. It was. Hopefully this gen will see western devs actually make strides in combat based gameplay as they are still largely useless at it.

Like the look of this. Visually it looks pretty epic in scale, some really nice effects. Animation looks nice and fluid too.

Witcher 2 looked lovely. Didn't stop me from selling it on after a few hours play. The combat was,as mentioned, pants. Lots of stupid design choices too, like throwing you into boss fights without giving you a chance to 'meditate' or whatever they called it, in order to mix potions etc. Plus the story was the usual sub-Tolkien affair, except with tits.

i loved the Witcher 2 but i agree the combat system was flawed and mostly not much fun. also the crafting system was completely over the top - just too complicated to really be helpful or motivating to make use of it.

still have to go through Witcher 1 on my PC - is it any better in terms of combat?

Witcher 1 is a completely different combat system. I can't really describe it but it's less than brilliant. I'm happy with it as it does the job I guess. All about the right stance (choice of 3) and timing your clicks to get a combo going. Once you get used to it it can be quite satisfying.

CD Project just confirmed Day One on PC, no DRM and all DLC free. They also stated that on XBone the will use as little DRM as they can get away with. Good stuff.
