Far Cry Classic

Completely missed the announcement of this. Ubisoft are releasing the first Far Cry single player on XBLA. This is not the console versions of the game but the proper open world PC version.

No details or screenshots but the cheeves recently popped up so it can't be far off.

The original Far Cry was not not really an open world game like the sequels were, it was a lot more like Crysis, which was developed by the same people.

Anyway, it's still a great game, will probably get it to play through it again.

Wouldnt this be better as a HD remake rather than straight port that XBLA and PSN got of Crysis1?

It doesn't need an HD Remake - it's a PC game.

As with Crysis 1, it already ran at whatever resolution you liked so it was already HD.

Unless the console port ran in SD or something?
