I was really surprised at how much was put into the latest tomb raider offering. I really enjoyed the game although it did become very repetitive about half way through. I'm looking forward to the next offering. The 'reboot' was an impressive and a welcome departure from the previous games.

Blasphemy! Tomb Raider with actual TOMBS!? I don't believe it!

The last game was an average game if you ask me, its basically just a cover shooter, which was a crying shame. I'll keep this on the radar, but I won't hold my breath after the last one...

I loved the last one but agree it could use more exploration & puzzles.

Yep, Tomb Raider for the casual gamer is just not Tomb Raider.

Shocking Square-Enix is doing a sequel to the biggest selling game of the year, even if they do deem it a "failure!"
I loved it, virtually on par with Last of Us for me. I get people criticizing that there were hardly any tombs, and the ones there were are very small. But I didn't see it as much of a problem as this game was about developing Lara into the person who goes on to become an extremely successful tomb raider. I can see the next game focusing more on them for sure.

A game should not be about developing a character, read a book for that. Besides she got over that first kill pretty fast.

Given the acclaim and good to everyone but Square sales TR got the sequel is clearly going to be more of the expanded same. I'm fine with that. I'm sure it'll be one explorable map again, maybe two, and you'll have to find the tombs. Hopefully they'll expand on the tombs much more next time but if not hey-ho, the game was perfectly enjoyable without them, I don't need it to get more like the old games as they were more turd than good most of the time anyway. If they put in the same effort in expanding the sequel as they did in crafting the reboot there should be nothing to worry about. Hitman, now there's a future Square owned sequel that needs a thorough work over.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't they say from the get-go this is her origin story? Origin stories tend to develop the character.

Yeah, you'd imagine the experiences of the first have battle hardened her so no more orgasmic moans or screams of shock and horror lol She should be pretty bad ass in this unless she ends up crash landing/ship wrecked and gets a metal rod thrust in her side again.

She was a lesbian in this one with the young girl right ? ... that's pretty much all the origin story i picked up on.

                          Great game though

Maybe this will have the survival elements they kept on promising would be in the last one.

But not usually at the expense of core gameplay features. Like a non-stealth based MGS where you have to drive Snake to the shops to pick up some baked beans and 20 Sovereign Black in order to develop his character. Having said that I would buy that game day 1.
