Can't see a thread for this but anyone else interested in this? I believe it's on sale from today in the US and is released here on Friday. It does sound like a lot of fun with massive potential but could get very expensive, only concern is it actually any good as no reviews yet? The starter set is like ?60 so really expensive for something without huge fanfare so far.

Typical just as I post a review as gone live
Have to say from the review it sounds like brilliant fun, especially if you like Disney. Though I may be being a little bit thick but I don't quite get how it all works, may have to watch the video again and perhaps wait for other reviews but could be promising.

Little boy is 6 in a few weeks and I have this preordered for him looks great and it dosent seem to have as many figures as skylanders either if you preorder it from toys r us it can be had for ?45 as there is a five pound off voucher code floating about
The bit I like about it is the starter pack has four difrent type of games in it pirates is sea battles and treasure hunting, Monsters seems to be all about trapping and pranking, and incredibles is a brawler, then there's the toy box mode that lets you create your own levels, a recent video I watched showed how you could create your own football games by linking two goals and a scoreboard.
The expandability of it has quite a bit of potential to they showed of a cars racing game and a Lone Ranger level which I haven't really followed, then there's Mickey Mouse from fantasia, wreck it Ralph, Tangled, and Jack skeligton so it will be intresting to see what they do with them
Ipad suport too for the creator mode which is a nice touch. I think skylanders popularity may be on the wane my little boy and his freinds got bored with it after giants as its just a Diablo clone really with a collectible figure element two games in and they haven't really asked about swap force disney infinity he's excited for though.Last edited by Lebowski; 18-08-2013, 19:03.

I have to say the more I'm reading about it I'm getting quite exited about this game sounds like it could be something quite brilliant yet different to anything I have played. I never got into Skylanders but I love Disney and this could be amazing. Though it does look very expensive lol with all the different play sets and characters etc.

Another good review. It could work out being very expensive but as an adult i like to think i have some restraint lol but i imagine it would be a nightmare for anyone with kids. Im being disciplined and I will stick to the start set for now and may add more as I go, in particular the Lone Ranger set looks really good for me. Amazon seem to be doing it for the best price at ?52 and Game online is ?55 but surprisingly Shopto are really expensive at ?65, this price is based on Xbox360.

Disney are involved, what do you expect? There is no way that the technology in those figures is justified by that price. Hell you can get candy toys in Japan for 200 yen that have the same painting quality, im guessing it's some form of RFID chip in the bottom & those are piss cheap too.
However it's Disney so kids will flock to it, feel sorry for the parents thats all i can say hehe.

I've said it before with skylanders and I will say it again here a starwars figure costs about ?8 in the uk so these are comparable, my little boy plays with his skylander figures on and off the console so I don't mind him asking for these, if it is like sklanders i bet we will see a price drop of the initial sets not to far off
he will have to save his pocket money if he wants more figures after his birthday so i really dont mind him asking for it and disney is something my kids are intrested in I can imagine my little girl saving up for the tangled figures or the wreck it Ralph ones to so they can play together.
I resent the fact that people seem to think that if you buy the game you have to buy all the figures my son dosent have anywhere near a complete collection of skylanders and if he did I reckon it would take him a massive amount more time than he plays to unlock all there attacks and level them up, he's got his faves and ignored the rest.

It's obviously marketed towards younger gamers but as an adult there is just this inner child within me that likes to collect things like this but I'm not someone who has to have every figure and every playset, just the ones I'm interested in. What I do like about it from what i have read/seen its offers one thing, it looks like brilliant fun. Yeah I guess the games are probably easy and are aimed for children but the toybox mode offers plenty for the adult gamer to delve into.
The way I look at it I'm spending ?50 on the starter set and go from there and it appears to offer many hours of gaming fun, I have spent ?40 on many games that either tend to be really short or are just boring, really can't wait to this to drop through the door
