Shadow of the Beast "Remake" for PS4

The Iconic Amiga tech demo is to be remade to a PS4 exclusive, teaser trailer below.



Looks to be a new/replacement God of War style game, after watching the trailer I can't help but feel it would look a lot better without the blood all over the place. No in-game video as of yet or any hint on the story. No word if Reflections (Now owned by Ubisoft) are working on this version but as Sony owns the IP these days it seems doubtful.

Would be interesting to see if this new version will include the three original games.

Couldn't have said it better, I had my head in my hands as I saw the trailer.

Are Sony unable to hire decent games designer? I'd happily show them how they should be doing it lush jungle and a rich world environment along with some mind bending puzzle to solve as you journey across the world.

Still it is only a XMB demo, but the desert setting and all the blood flying everywere look embrassingly naff as if designed by a 5 year old.

I literally went mental with excitement when I saw this in the show, then actually eyed the teaser footage and realised this will probably have nothing to do with Shadow of the Beast.

The music won't be nearly as good as any of the 3 originals.

Yes even Reflections admitted that as well, the third game was by far the best with a good mix of combat and puzzles with a balance difficulty level.

I get the feeling so far everyone here is of the mind set they should "let sleeping dogs lie" so to speak. In the case of KI I do hope they cancel it.

The start of the trailer looks a bit promising when you see this:

(Just noticed there also going for the Star Wars Tatoonie desert look with the two suns in the sky. Great original idea there design team... sigh)

The fact Rise of the Robots even got a sequel still sends shivers down my spine. What next then how about Dai Katana 2 anyone? Must admit I'm getting sick to death of rubbish remakes and the lack of understanding develops often have over the previous games in the series.

With all of these terrible "Remake" and "Reboot" in the games industry. The new Flashback is getting mauled at the moment in reviews, I feel we should have the song "Red" playing in the background when ever we talk about them. The song itself sums up what I feel about almost everyone of these terrible games, which are just cheap attempts to cash in on memories.



Most of these remakes feel like they just painted all over the original. So I feel like asking many of the staff that work on these remakes are they just painters of red. As they are little more than the painting fakers and forgers of old.

Pardon me but while it was stiff and difficult, it was the most amazing thing I had encountered at the time, that's a strong memory that has stayed with me ever since, the music alone gives me tingles.
