I only have the Sky into the One because the video pass through on my amp died at Christmas in a power cut/surge (the amp was the only unprotected thing ). However, I've not turned the sky box on since January..... Given up on live TV and really TV in general. Will watch a bit of Netflix if need be and the kids prefer Netflix to Sky.

Anyway, to answer your question, I don't really see the point unless you want to watch TV and grind something at the same time, in which case you may as well switch both off and do something else

New beta update allows you to change sound mixer on a snapped item.
So if you snap live tv you can have the volume higher for snapped tv than game, a very handy feature.
I had my 360 through HDMI but noticeable lag killed it.
I'll be plugging my sky box in tonight as my PS4 arrives tomorrow, I need a hdmi socket so Sky is being sacrificed.

With the Xbox Off voice command, I always get a box come up, asking me to select yes or no. I then have to use the controller. Defeats the object doesn't it?

          Just say yes or no.
Anything that is lit up in green is recognisable by the kinect.

That's what I thought, just will not understand me. My voice is really croaky at the moment though, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

I've disabled the kinect, sodding thing annoys the piss out of me. I want to play games not have a one sided rant with Hals retard brother. It never works when other people are in the room. You have to repeat yourself over and over sometimes. So now I have a stupid icon in the corner of the screen telling me to enable it in settings. Now that it's turned off I don't see an option to auto log in! ****ing thing!
All this has made me realise what a wonderful experience the 360 is. Yes I even forgive Microsoft for the ring of death that claimed two of my consoles.

This is a known bug which is in the release notes for the current dashboard beta due in April. Saw it listed somewhere.

I don't have a XB1, and probably won't due to it not being out until late 2014 and my wanting to focus my gaming a bit. However, the thing that irritates me the most with Kinect is not the fact I wouldn't use it, but the fact that the console could have been even more powerful for games if MS had considered the core gamers more in their "Value propisition." That is for me the most tragic thing, but good software design (like Ryse) will make sure that games look fantastic on XB1, I just wish the dev's were given more silicon power to play with. I said ages ago that I hoped 1080p 60fps would be the target for this gen, and its a shame they have to work really hard to achieve that. Still in a few years the tools and knowledge will make it happen. Last gen the best looking games for me were on PS3, (maybe Halo4 too) and for the first 4 years the PS3 was worse than XB360.

No you don't .. I routinely say 'Xbox Off' followed by 'Yes' and it works fine .. As long as you say yes after a couple of seconds it works every time.

Kinect not running will give you a couple of FPS in reality in most games .. nothing more. They could of course removed the Kinect requirement, and added GDDR instead.

Personally I couldn't care .. XB1 games looks great now regardless of the resolution, and the XB1 has enough grunt to do anything the PS4 can .. just at a lower res. Get a PC if you are really that bothered about it.

How about if they added an option to turn off Kinect once a game starts, surely then people could have the best of both worlds and Kinect would start up again once you quit the game and go back to the dashboard.

What have you been smoking? How about at half the resolution and half the framerate, Tomb Raider and a host of games tell you the complete story,

Bubbles this isn't Neo/SonyGaf, If you're going to say something like that at least point out what the differences are if you care that much.

Anyway Tomb Raider runs at 1080p on both and even the framerate on the PS4 version isn't locked at 60. I'm personally not sure MGS Ground Zeroes running at 720p is an actual indication of what the system is capable of when you look at what Crytek did day one.

There's going to be some great looking games on both systems in the next few years.

And yet it makes zero difference when you actually playing the games ... I have been smoking the cigar of common sense.
