PS1 with Ridge and Toshinden

Hyper Solid Toshinden (It was called that, and not Battle Arena Toshinden), was not a PS1 launch game.

Also, the CD versions of Metal Slug and Metal Slug 2 came out in 1996 and 1998. The front-loader hardware came out in September 1994.

I've only ever bought 2 consoles at launch, despite owning nearly every consoles to date. The two where The Atari 2600 with Combat & The PS1 with WipEout and Ridge Racer.

N64 (same)

DC -JP launch, VF3Tb, worst ever console launch. No RGB made the games look muddy. Should have waited for USA)

PS2 - Between launches. JP unit with Driving Emotion, Ridge Racer V, SFEX3, another weak region but at least we had RGB and DVD. Oh and RRV is a game I play today.

Xbox - UK launch with Halo, PGR, JSRF, DoA3. Best console launch in terms of quality and quantity. Although JSRF sucked.

I've never got a console at launch. The closest I came was the Gamecube, but I waited till the J/US switch was available before ordering from LikSang. I had it before UK launch though, so I suppose it counts. I got Star Wars Rogue Leader and Super Monkey Ball.

Exactly like me, though I used a UK importer.
Rarely bought consoles on release due to being a young\restricted income importer or due to waiting for a game I really wanted but the ones I did...

DS (JPN launch) Still have a pic online when i got my DS fresh from japan with the launch games, god how nostalgic hehe

3DS (JPN launch) lol nothing there was no games on launch i wanted so i just played with the built in AR stuff.
N64 (UK) Super mario 64
DC (JPN launch) Sonic adventure
PS1 (UK) was actually chipped & had a copy of the very first DDR as i won it as the prize by beating everyone in Leeds that day who entered the DDR dance off at CEX lol

I'm quite new to buying consoles at launch, it's not something I could afford to do when I was younger. Still, off the top of my head...

PSP (JP launch) - Ridge Racer, Vampire Chronicles.
3DS (JP launch) - Super Mario 64, Ridge Racer DS (a bit later).
360 (UK launch) - Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Project Gotham Racing 3, Quake 4, Call of Duty 2 (a bit later), Ridge Racer 6 (also a bit later).
PS3 (US launch) - Ridge Racer 7, Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight.
Wii (US launch) - Wii Sports, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Call of Duty 3, Excite Truck, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, Trauma Centre: Second Opinion.

And the days when I could afford to buy all the consoles and games on launch are now over. I will be getting a PS4 on the Japanese launch, which will come with Knack, I also intend to buy FIFA 14, Assassin's Creed 4, and *maybe* Killzone: Shadow Fall depending on the reviews.

Out of that list, I think Kameo gave me the most enjoyment, Fantastic, underrated game and one of the last examples of old-style Rare games.
