Looking back, I've brought quite a few consoles at their initial launch, but over these past few years, it's tailed off. I don't think I'll buy the PS4, Xbox One, Wii U or anything else for some time. Nothing to do with me feeling less enthusiastic, more that I'm sensible and only a few systems in their time have had a must have title on day 1.

I imagine I'll go for a PS4 in the future but looking back, the Dreamcast launch was the most special. It took me over a year to save up and it's the most I've brought on day 1. To go from a PS1, N64 and GB to a console that looked better than a PC, all hooked to an online system with these weird VMU's you can take to school, it was mind blowing.

Don't think we'll experience anything like that again.

Sega Master System - Alex Kidd In Miricle World (In Built) / Sonic the Hedgehog
Sega Mega Drive - Sonic the Hedgehog
Sega Game Gear - Sonic the Hedgehog
Nintendo Gameboy - Pokemon / Zelda DX
Sony PSone - Destruction Derby / Ridge Racer / Tekken
    Nintendo 64 - Perfect Dark / GoldenEye / Super Mario 64
(UK Launch) Sega Dreamcast - Sonic Adventure / Virtua Fighter 3tb / Sega Rally 2
(UK Launch) Nintendo Gameboy Advance - Mario Advance
PlayStation 2 - Moto GP (Namco)
(US Launch) Sony PSP - Ridge Racer / WipEout Pure
(UK Launch) Xbox - Halo / Project Gotham Racing / Jet Set Radio / Amped
(UK Launch) Nintendo Gamecube - Super Monkey Ball / Wave Race: Blue Storm
(UK Launch) Nintendo DS- Mario 64 DS
(UK Launch) Xbox 360- Project Gotham 3 / Call of Duty 2
    PlayStation 3 - Gran Turismo 5: Prologue / Uncharted
Nintendo Wii - Super Mario Galaxy
Nintendo 3DS - Super Mario 3D Land / Zelda Ocarina of Time / Ridge Racer 3D
PS Vita- WipEout 2048 / Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
    Nintendo Wii U - TBC
    PlayStation 4 - TBC
    Xbox One - TBC

Eurogamer's Ellie Gibson takes a look back at some of the worst launch titles in video gaming history.

Eurogamer have compiled a top 5 supposedly 'terrible' launch games. Putting aside the fact that they seem to think that gaming began in 2005,they've selected Kameo as their number 1. A really great, charming game. Not flawless, but still had the Rare magic, and exactly the kind of game that we scream out for Rare to start making again. Words fail me.

I don't think I've ever bought a console at launch. Back in the day, as a kid, I didn't have the money so it was waiting to the birthday/Christmas for any new game/system for me. Now, I just don't care enough, there hasn't been anything so great that would make me want to get an expensive new machine when my old ones still have a ton of games to offer.

Anyway the games I've bought with new consoles, most are games that really made me want the actual hardware:

SNES - Super Mario All Stars
          N64 - Super Mario 64
GBA - Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
          DS - Mario Kart DS
          3DS - Mario Kart 7
Wii - Mario Kart Wii, I think
          PS2 - GTA: Vice City
PS3 - Errr, can't remember actually, maybe it was Yakuza 3 or Valkyria Chronicles?
          Xbox - Halo
Xbox 360 - Again, can't remember what was my first game, there's been too many. Gears of War was probably one of the first ones

Jesus did they kidnap Violet Berlin form her retirement home and lock her in a cupboard to record the audio for that vid, bad script, unfunny jokes, poorly researched info it has that bravo show Game-pad written all over it.

That video is utter crap. Kameo isn't nearly deserving of being the number 1 "terrible" game. What about stuff like Genji? Or Gun?

Lol you cant even really compare any Xbox 360 launch games to Street Fighter: The Movie that was on PS1 launch day. One of THE worst games ever.

That is nonsense. SF The Movie actually plays well, it just looks terrible.

                          Nintendo 64 - Mario, ISS64
                          Xbox - Halo, PGR
Xbox 360 - Condemned, Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3, COD2 and Ridge Racer 6 soon after.
PS3 - Resistance, RR7. Imported this at the Japanese launch.

I think they're the only consoles I've owned within the first month or so of them being released. As for the ps4 and xbox one I'll more than likely be waiting until sometime early next year to decide which one to get.

lol not from what i remember of it. Fair enough maybe being about harsh on being one of the worst ever launch games but compared to Xbox360 launch games, its easily worse than Kameo or Perfect Dark Zero.

Kameo for sure. I would argue it's better than PDZ, that was poor.

PDZ was a disaster of a game. Nothing "next gen" about it. I did enjoy the music in the night club level though.
