Really? I can't remember if I talked about it here before, but in my eyes DQ8 is near perfect. I played it just after beating a major WoW habit (where I played nothing but the damn thing) and it properly rekindled my love for console games.

It is one of my fav RPGs. Music, art style, game world and story made for one of the greatest RPGs ever imo.

I like DQVIII but it's stuck in a time warp in terms of design. I put over 60 hours into it I cannot stomach any more of the random battles and simplistic systems in place. Beautiful though and the music is amazing. Lovely world too.

My DQVIII save file had over 200 hours on it, truly superb RPG. I spent ages just hunting metal slimes in that damn wood.

Complete Nintendomination there (18 of the top 20 are on Nintendo platforms). The most interesting stat there for me though is that 9 out the top 10 are handheld games. Its funny how in Japan handhelds are by far the biggest platforms yet in the west its big bulky consoles that sell the most.

No Mario Galaxy. No wonder NIntendo continue with the New SMB/3D Land style. In the West though, it's all about Galaxy. pretty strange, no?

No wonder japan gets sweet FA in the way of real games these days. That list may as well be called the Pokemon Mario dated RPG chart! There's not a single title in that listthat I would even concider buying

Take me back to the days of the SFC and Mega Drive moving on to the saturn. That's when we had some quality action titles coming out of Japan.
