Buying new games for your new Xbox One/PS4

How are you all planning to go about buying games for your lovely new console? Are you intending on buying a few games on release day, then spread the rest over the coming weeks or are you intending to go for a big blow out and buy everything in one hit.

I personally shall be buying 4/5 games tomorrow then the further 5 i want on Saturday whilst starting my Xmas shopping with my girlfriend. I have not brought any games since GTA5 in order to wait.

I've been saving for the ps4, and will only pick up 3 full retail games to play at launch, kids family life, social life, work would prevent me from picking up ten games in such a small period of time it would be Waste of money and most would sit unplayed but thats just me.

Once i've properly played the 3 games i really want i will pick up other stuff if its the right price, So just Killzone, Zelda, and AC4 for me at retail this crimbo

I'm learning from past experiences. I don't want a load of duds in my collection, and I don't want to spend money on mediocre games that I may not even play very much. Important to resist the launch hype rather than blow money on crap games!

I'll probably get Assassin's Creed 4 and FIFA 14 because I know I will play that. My consoles comes with Knack anyway, may as well give it a shot.

Well i was planning on getting the following for certain

Assassin's Creed 4
Dead Rising 3
COD: Ghosts
NFS Rivals
Lego Marvel Superheroes (next week)
Ryse
Forza 5 ( still not certain on this, depends if i want to be a matyr or not)

The ones im debating on are

Battlefield 4 ( Totally depends how broken it is)
Zoo Tycoon (Be cheap in a few weeks?)
NBA 2K14 (Again maybe be on offer in UK in a few weeks?)

Plus the more i think about it as im with the girlfriend i dont think she will be too happy/impressed/most likely be mad if i go too crazy. Plus i need to factor in Xbox Live.

5 retail games minimum (might still get FIFA and AC4) as well as the 2 free PS+ games.

I haven't bought a PS3 game since Beyond so BF4, LEGO Marvel and NFS are all New to me.

That's all bases covered. When you are done with those, get the other half, which'll likely be reduced in price by then.

The way I see it:

Dead Rising 3>Assassin's Creed 4, plus it's a system exclusive.
Battlefield 4>Call of Duty: Ghosts. The least said about COD the better.
Need for Speed: Rivals>Forza 5. NFS is more accessible. Save Forza for a rainy day.
NBA 2K14>the entire launch line up of games. You have seen NBA 2K14 right?

Massive blow out, I've got the next 6-7 years to cherry pick new releases and I've had to wait generations for a console launch with any real sense of event to it.

I want to do it. I can do it. I'm doing it.

Just picking up 3 to cover 3genres.
AC4, Need for Speed and Killzone.

With the 2 freebies on PS+ and the upgraded Journey that will be more than enough til the price crash of the lesser selling games after Xmas.

Xbox One: AC4, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Crimson Dragon and Forza 5.

PS4: Killzone, BF4 and Resogun. (Possibly need for speed at some point but may just rent it).
