    Xbox One digital importing

Right, so the rules on store regions have been changed for Xbox One , so you can at will switch your account between different region's stores.

Games are now also region free, so this could usher in a new wave of importing should games come to Japan or the US and not the UK.
This is also a good option should games be cheaper in another region, which they often are.

I've just been having a play and I have just purchased a Digital title from the Xbox one store in USD, have switched back and am now downloading now my dash is set back to UK

Need for Speed Rivals is ?54.99 on the UK store in retail with it's RRP

by my Calculations the $59.99 + Tax price should come in at around ?41.

To do this you need to change your Xbox Store location to the US
Do this by going to system settings and changing location to United States.

Can you point to a bit in the EULA that says that's ok to do? If so, that's great news.

I give it a month before MS cotton on to the CC thing. With PSN it was the same. UK cards worked on other regions, and then Sony updated their security system.

Hopefully it doesn't happen, but I have a rule of thumb that's usually true: if I like it, then soon it won't exist.

In which case it'll probably still be cheaper to buy US Points cards on ebay. That is a hell of a price difference RRP wise.

The only mention of anything that may be in violation is ensuring that your payment details are true and accurate. It's certainly not mention in things you cannot do.

          6.3. Billing. By providing Microsoft with a payment method, you (i) represent that you are authorized to use the payment method that you provided and that any payment information you provide is true and accurate;

If you are concerned, maybe getting hold of USD points cards is the safer way to go, I've updated the first post.

I have USA points for years on USA PS3 and saved loads compared to UK prices, hopefully MS won't cotton on!

They stated on several occasions that this would be ok to do, especially when people were asking about why it wasn't available in their region.

All they said was that you may switch back to your own region and find you can't redownload something as they have to abide to the licensing agreements as well as local law.

So if you lived in germany and downloaded a banned game, then you wouldn't be able to redownload it from the german Xbox Store as it wouldn't physically exist there.

Looks like they've updated https://commerce.microsoft.com to facilitate having payment options from/for different regions, just added my paypal account as a US billing option and this now appears as an option when I switch the US dashboard

Higher res on PS4 so you would expect the prices to be higher than on Xbox One.

And they're competing only with themselves, so there are no retailers to compete with each other to lower prices. Ah yes, downloads... how "convenient"!

But unfortunately the online community on PS4 are all too smug and best avoided.
